I feel sprint cheated me

matcharger

Jun 16, 2009, 9:17 PM
I need a suggestion: I bought a rant and a highnote. The phones had a glitch. When I have it in my pocket it unlocks and dials someone on my call history. I tried both phones and they were in lock mode. Sprint does not want to take responsibility. They are saying i will have to pay to have a tech fix it. They can't do anything. What are they going to do reprogram the software? I just want a standard phone. Are there any suggestions?

Sprint cheated you because the manufacturer messed up?

Yeah, real good work there. (Ignoring the small probability of 2 separate devices having the exact same problem. Troll elsewhere.)

This is why Sprint has little customers... PEOPLE LIKE YOU! If he were at Verizon, they would switch it on the Spot and give him a new one.

There is a thing called insurance that you can purchase... works real well. 🤣

I do have one question, If you bought a samsung TV from best buy and didn't purchase the "geek squad black tie warranty" and your TV started acting up after 2 months do you think best buy will fix it for free......... NO they send you back to the manufacturer.

You obviously don't want a standard phone if those are the 2 you bought. What you mean is you want a cheap phone. Too late to switch models. You should have gotten the TEP when you signed up and you should have asked all of these questions then too. Now you have to play by the rules, it's what you get when you're cheap. Pay the money, get them fixed, get the ins, and be on your way. NEXT?

Most repair centers cover the 1 year manufacture warranty now.

That aside, I don't understand how both phones are dialing with keypad locks. I can tell you it's not the phone if both are doing that. If you have a lock on both keypads, make sure the lock is on before you put it somewhere where buttons are more than likely to be pressed (pocket). On a very rare occasion, the software will dial numbers while keypad is locked, which is due to some sort of liquid damage.

This is how it should be done. If more customer reps were like you, Sprint would be better off.

Guys, we are assuming that matcharger actually knows how to work a basic function of locking the keypad so it does not dial while in your pocket or bag.

I am so tired of going on these Sprint Forums and people bitch-ing like little old ladies!

I've had sprint for over 9 years! Very pleased! Sorry not everyone else has not had the same experience.

I think Sprint did the right think by suggesting you to PAY to have the phone fixed. Sprint does not manufacture the phone Samsung does. If you don't have insurance on the phones, Sprint is not responsible to take the loss for you.

I had the same situation last year with Samsung Ace. I was asked in the Sprint store to pay $120.00 to have a new phone. I could afford it but the phone was only few months old, so I called Samsung and sent them the phone for repair hoping 1 yr manufacturer warranty should cover the phone. They reset the phone, did not repair it and sent it back to me saying it was my fault that the charging port was not working. I sent them a feedback about the fact that the charging port is the same as the data port or the h...

This probably isn't the answer you're looking for, but the best long term solution is to not carry a phone in your pants pocket. It places too much stress and pressure on the phone- hence the buttons getting pressed, taking it out of locked mode, and calling someone.

Besides that issue, it also diminishes the life of the phone due to the constant pressure on it. If keys or other objects are also in your pocket then these can scratch and damage the phone. Slide phones and those with touchscreens are even more vulnerable to parts failing.

A case or holster that attaches to a belt is the best way to carry it. In a pocket or purse or similar will just cause issues.

I'd rather put my phone in my pocket and risk diminishing the life of it rather then looking like a gigantic tool with my phone attached to my belt via a holster or case. I'm sorry, but it looks ridiculous IMO

K, then when/if it breaks don't complain about it.

Been using my pockets to hold my phones since I've had a phone. If it breaks I have insurance and I'm totally ok with that. Again, it's just my opinion, you're all entitled to your own.
