Anyone have an ETA of when the Palm Pre will be available to employee referrals? (SERO/EPRP)
Thanx!
...
I haven't heard of any delay for SERO/EPRP users to get one, but those with older SERO plans need to change to EPRP plans to use the Instinct or Pre. That I know of, the time/wait restriction is just for employee, advantage, and 3rd party dealer accounts/plans.
...
Thanx! I am aware of the plan change. My real question is when can I upgrade to the Pre under an EPRP account? The EPRP website states this: "Because of unprecedented demand, the Palm Pre is not yet available to Everything Plus Referral Program shoppers." I am eligible to receive the full discount. I cannot receive the discount in store and I will not pay full retail.
...
If you call and change your plan FIRST, you certainly can get the upgrade IN store.
Anyone who tells you you cannot is incorrect.
...
So you're saying that if I call and change from SERO to EPRP I cna go in store to do upgrades?
Thanx!
...
They changed it a while back so SERO customers can upgrade in store. For a long time it didn't meet the $35 plan requirement, but they added an exception for SERO.
If you go in now, though, you'll probably be on a wait list a few dozen customers and few weeks deep.
☹️

Thanx! Dang! I wish I knew this before. When did this change because about a year ago I was told my SERO/EPRP rep that I could not upgrade in-store.
...
Maybe a year, maybe two? I dunno. It was one of those "btw, blah blah blah" type notices in a weekly info page. It's uncommon to see SERO lines, so a lot of reps may not know or they may remember the days before they changed it.

Where do I issue your cool points? 😁 You have been alot of help. Thanx!

So I've been in the same situation as you and am currently on SERO and was waiting for the Pre to be available on the website. I was even on a waiting list in store and my name came up, but I was told that This plan wouldn't work. I let it go and now I keep reading all over the Internet that it does. Only problem is I haven't heard from the people that have actually done it. Please let me know if this worked for you and how it went.
Thanks. Your Cool Points are coming as well

I regret to inform everyone that I had to let Sprint go because of lack of availability of this phone and lack of apps. I was willing to wait but when it was announced that the iPhone 3G S would have the camcorder at release I had to jump ship. I did not try the aforementioned process of changing from a SERO to EPRP plan so can't give results on that. Sorry.
...
So are you 100% sure of this. I just don't want to do it then lose my old $30 plan? I was told the same thing by an employee and after my name came up on the waiting list... a manager called me to let me know it was ready and I asked her " If I change to EPRP can I blah blah blah" and she said NO we can't upgrade EPRP in store.
...
Sprint SERO plans will not work with the Pre. The Pre requires an everything data plan or a EPRP plan. If a customer comes into the store with an SERO plan we CAN upgrade their phone.. but if its the Pre or Instinct then we must change to a regular data plan which are $70, $90 or $99 for an individual line. EPRP plans are availble only by referral from a Corp Sprint Rep. Their corp email and corp id are required.
...
I appreciate the response, but this is not 100% true? If you are on the old SERO plan then you don't need any of the email or corp id stuff. Also as long as you switch to EPRP before you go into the store then no change is needed. I actually just did all of this yesterday and am responding from my Pre right now.

Palm® Pre┞¢ $549.99
$250.00 instant savings (per phone)
$100.00 mail-in rebate (per phone)
It comes down to $199.99 after mail-in rebate
I still have 2 month to go so I don't have to pay full price on my 3 sero accounts (50/30/30). By then TP2 will be out. If TP2 require changing from sero to eprp then I will get the pre otherwise I will go with TP2
