sprint lost 1.3 millie again
This marks an 8 percent decline from the 53.8 million total subscribers Sprint had at the end of 2007. Notably, it also dropped Sprint below the 50 million mark!!!
$1.6 billion loss
I'll give my take on all this later.
Cellenator said:
umm because the analysis were expecting an even bigger loss, if you want to jump up and down over a few nickels be my guess! π€£
I jump up and down about the 20 bucks I save every month not paying for Big Red's overpriced plans myself.

you can't put a lawsuit on someone for being fired when there location closed.
Verizon had nothing to do with the closing of Circuit City.
and not all of them were laid off.
And the ones who were, where were they suppose to put them if the stores and call centers were full??
use your brain if you have one.
p.s. hey cellenator, would you mine looking at this? (turns around) i seem to have a large knife sticking outta my back, would you mind putting a lil pressure on it and just driving it home buddy? thanks that would be ggggrrrrrreeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaatttt!! LOL

3G Roaming is not Dependable.
haha π€£
When Verizon cuts the EVDO Roaming from Sprint, that will go away.
The only service yall Roam off of is Alltel, and when that EVDO contract is up, you got it, back to 1X.
π€£
Yall will be saying that when Sprint is gone.
And don't forget, Verizon has the best Call Quality.
I didnt see Sprint on that. π€£

Verizon MAY have superior call quality in the few areas they offer PCS service. Where they offer cellular, it's not even close! Cellular service is an older technology that is incapable of having even comparable, much less better, call quality.
As for roaming, I'll enjoy being able to roam more on Sprint. While many see that as a downside, I see it as an upside. In other words, you roam more on Sprint, but you CAN roam more on Sprint. The best roam ...

Obviously, you didn't read any of the responses below the article- particularly, the ones that point out how ALL wireless carriers place exception clauses in unlimited plans to protect themselves from abuse.
Verizon also has an "unreasonable usage" clause attached to their unlimited plans contained in the fine print.
With the current economic environment, it is essential we maintain a solid cash position. In the fourth quarter, we generated free cash flow in excess of $500 million, retired $1 billion in debt and ended the quarter with $3.7 billion of cash in the bank. With aggressive cost action and careful management of our cash position, we can meet all debt obligations through the end of 2010.
Also in the fourth quarter, our trend of post-pa...

4th quarter is in - and they lost another 1.3 million!!!!!
They said BEFORE the 4th quarter of 2008 was going to MARK the "turnaround" ? Apparently, nobody in Sprint's management understood that in order to mark a turnaround, they had to begin stemming the losses π

Sorry, I call them as I see them.
It's ok. You just confirm what the rest of the planet has known for awhile now.
Sprint's continued customer loss comes as bigger rivals AT&T and Verizon Wireless add customers. AT&T reported last month that it added 2.1 million subscribers during the fourth quarter, while Verizon Wireless added 1.4 million.

Maybe Sprint will have to borrow money from the TARP?

maybe they will hire another CEO for 40 million a year and hopes he figures it out! π€£
Or, maybe they could do like Verizon, and put up coverage maps that are completely false- showing native coverage where they have none.
no one has anything to say? no, they're tired of bantering with an idiot.
ps why do you care so much?

I care because I believe all Sprint needs to do is shed its reputation...and IDEN. I think most can agree that the Nextel purchase was a bad idea. Now that Sprint has used the 2.5 spectrum it gained from the merger to launch Wi-Max, I think it is time to dump what remains of Nextel and go in another direction. Maybe the Southern Company could be persuaded to take IDEN off Sprint's hands? They could change the name to National Linc Wireless or maybe keep the Nextel name?
If Sprint dumped iDEN, it would surpass the dumbest thing they have ever done by a country mile. Along with dumping iDEN, they would lose about 12 million high paying customers who chunk out big wads of cash every month ...

They will leave anyways! What are you smoking, maybe you ain't up on current events but stupid sprint has treated Nextel like a red headed step child and is LOSING MILLIONS OF NEXTEL customers, and slowly destroying the remaining client base.

Most of the iDEN defection has been due to the economy, which has been on a downturn for a lot longer than the current recession.
Since the vast majority of Nextel's client base are businesses, then it stands to reason that luxuries like cellphones are the first to go.
Where I work, we are also doing away with our Nextel service; but we aren't replacing it with another wireless service, we are going to start using in-house cordless ...

Sprint IS adding nets. They just aren't adding nearly as many as the other guys. Where do you get your info anyway?

No one said they should GIVE these subscribers away. They would of course have to be compensated accordingly. The dumbest thing was bailing Nextel out in the first place. Next dumbest was neglecting what were previously the most loyal subscribers in America and in effect driving them out the door. How about third? Basically, having no idea what to do with IDEN. Were they going to service the IDEN network or relocate them to the CDMA network with this QChat? I guess they have given up on that. They now are pushing...
