CDMA to LTE
I'm curious as what Sprint is planning for the future. It's committed to
WiMax, which from what I understand is for broadband not voice. Since all the other major providers have committed to LTE for all its wireless service, will Sprint stay with CDMA for voice or are they waiting until later to jump on the bandwagon?
I think sticking with CDMA will either place themselves in a nice niche, or it may turn out to be a serious strategic blunder if they don't go to LTE for voice.

Since, Sprint is going 4G by developing a WiMax network. Most likely Sprint plans for voice transition will probably start by switching all their phones and towers off CDMA to WiMax. This will probably be done by building all WiMax towers up from scratch especially, since Sprint has sold a majority of there towers off to Tower CO. WiMax will allow Sprint to start using VOIP for all their calling services. That is the future of cellular calling for both GSM and CDMA. By taking the first step now it will give Sprint an advantage when it comes to the transition of all other carrier who will have to catch up and will make there jobs much harder and roaming will be difficult during the transition.
