Need a new Temp Phone

homeslice5484

My LG fusic 4 button is almost totally broken now. I have to push it hard and slow for it to work. Texting with T9 is horrible.

I was going to get a phone on ebay to use temp. till Nov. when I am eligible for my 2 year upgrade.

Any ideas? Anyone ever used ebay? Any other options? I tried to get sprint to sell me a refurb phone but they didnt even offer.

if it is a trusted seller than i wouldnt worry too much, but if you are really nervous and he is a trustworthy seller than if you can get the esn a sprint store will be happy to check it and see if it is locked down in our system due to non-payment or reported lost/stolen.

I have a temp phone the family uses if one goes down until I can get a replacement. I got it off Ebay and confirmed the ESN was clear with the seller and with Sprint. I've used it for my son who dropped his phone and had to get it repaired.

I had Sprint active the temp while at the repair center and used it until his phone was fixed. Once the was done, Sprint reactivated his repaired phone with no problem.

Why not go to a repair store/advanced exchange store?

They'll fix or replace your phone for free if you have TEP or ESRP (basically insurance), or for 35 dollars if you have neither.

i'd like to give homeslice all of their options. See what their upgrade eligibility or what fees may be involved. Just giving homeslice some advice.

Yean,

Just got off the sprint rep, who answered my email.

He said I am eligible for a 1 year upgrad price of 75.00 off a phone.

150.00 in November.

Basically said I can go to a sprint store and it will cost up to 50.00 or so to fix if I want to.

I dont feel like paying 50.00 to fix a phone I wont have in 4 months and I don't really like any of the lineup now to upgrade early.

Please educate us on who "they" are. There are many different departments Sprint has, and a customer can't just walk into any Sprint office and have the representative attach the RLOF23 that replaced HUP codes in iRMS. Please give homeslice the procedures on getting the RLOF23 before sending he or she to the store. Also, just in case homeslice didn't know, once the RLOF23 code is attached to the account, only corp. Sprint can give the full rebates. Third party usually doesn't participate on internal given rebate codes.

Also, homeslice stated that he or she wasn't to fond of Sprint's line up. So upgrading may be out of the question.

the samsung m520 looks ok...so does the razr2 v9m...other than that, no offense to sprint workers or anyone..the lineup isnt that great.

The Centro's buttons are too small or id go for that. My fusic works, its just annoying that i have to push the 4 very hard for it to register...makes it even worse when texting.

homeslice, your best option is to pay the repair fee of up to fifty five dollars, if you don't have ESRP attached to your account, and, if the phone can be repaired. If the phone's board is damaged beyond repair, upgrading or buying another phone at full retail, or buying a phone from a friend. family member, online, etc. may be another option.

What else do you like to do, other than text? I don't recommend buying a used phone online. You never know what you're buying and may be a bad experience.

The Instinct does require one of Sprint's Simply Everything plans. The LG LX260 may be an option for you.
