never go to sprint. if you HAVE sprint. get rid of it asap.

why? because they are a rude, lying, money-hungry company. My boyfriend and i decided to get a sprint phone plan together. we only ever talk to eachother, so we figured wed just get one that included sprint to sprint. so we go into the store, pick out our green rumor phones, and talk to the salesperson. My boyfriend lives in a deadzone, so we asked if we were going to be charged for roaming or if it would effect our sprint to sprint. she informed us with confidence that we would not be charged for talking to eachother, since we're on the same plan. GREAT! we thought. so we went with it. a few weeks go past and it's time for us to pay our bill. we look online, and were SHOCKED to ...

YOUR the idiot! The very definition of roam is just that: ROAM! Read the fine print of any major carrier and you'll see that if you truly are outside their coverage area mobile 2 mobile DOES NOT APPLY! The customer was going by what the sales rep said and for you to insult her like that is repulsive!

sorry but you still are kind of an idiot because roaming minutes count as anytime minutes and i bet you got charged for overages and long distance and roaming once you exceeded the contractual minutes you agreed too.

oh and I'm tired of people calling sprint evil because they charge for a service... it's sprint people not a UN foodstamps for phones people.

You are now officially the 10,000th person who has posted a sob story about a wireless carrier on Phonescoop.

Seriously, even if I hated my service, and I don't, I couldn't change if I wanted to. The other guys don't have adequate coverage in the places I use it the most.

I have a friend who had Verizon and and had a similar experience, only his bill was $1200 instead. He feels exactly the same way you do about Sprint. One difference though: Verizon never offered to absorb any of the charges.

Bottom line is that you need to read the contracts you sign. People will lie to you or give out misinformation due to ignorance. It's no different than buying a new car and the salesperson offering to throw in certain "extras" to ...

Wait.. Am I to understand that sales people are sometimes dishonest? You've just shattered my worldview.

Seriously, sprint has done 2 things here you should be happy about.
1. They take you at face value with regard to your claims about being lied to. They were not privy to that conversation and have no waying of knowing if you were in fact mislead or if you simply misunderstood, or worst case scenario are lying to them. They have no assurances either.

2. After taking you at face value they accept half of the responsibility. This is excellent cs. After all, you were presented with the contract in writing... you are also offered the opportunity to check either on line or via phone what your current usage is. In life the only per...

I'm inclined to agree with you. You provide information...things happend folks wan't finatial compensation where there countermeasures in place to educate them about charges and bam! "I wan't this charge removed" says the customer... like it or not regardless of where you are in retail folks will never be satisfied.

This thing where customers feel that they have been coerced into getting extra things (phones, svcs, etc.)... Folks, I know people arent that week mind. I swear this is making me think I can use the Jedi mind trick on folks. ๐Ÿคจ

Regardless where you go... note, I say retail not sprint only. People do the same dumb things on both sides of the fence. I've seen ATT, Alltel, and verizon reps do it. But thats just telecom. Don't get me started when I see folks selling things at circuit city, radio shack and best buy. People are being miseducated no matter where you go in retail. It is due to customers not doing research on what they are buying and store reps not informing themselves.

I'm mad it is the 21st century and folks still aren't atleast half way knowledgable about modern electronic technology.

its really funny that you say america will never take responsibility. because you can only control you and only you. just as said before there are different resources to get information. just taking someones word for it doesnt cut it. welcome to the world of the ignorance. next time someone tells you something especially if you are unsure. do some research yourself.

Roaming is included but in roaming areas m2m does not apply. The minutes come out of your normal allotment.
...
Yean

Jun 26, 2008, 9:15 PM
I know that. When the customer is roaming, the customer is using another network, therefore m2m doesn't apply for m2m calling. A lot of customers DO NOT KNOW this. Most will think calling another number that's Sprint or Nextel, will include m2m calling, regardless where they're at.
That's why WE are here to help people in these forums, not to tell the customer, what he or she did wrong. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Insomnia is making me post this.

I'm just curious as to why you and your boyfriend would sign up for Sprint if he knows that he lives in a dead zone.

Thats what really bugs me about this post. The sales rep shouldn't have sold you the service. I will not sing up someone (and have talked people out of singing up for service) if they live in a bad area.

Sprint meeting you halfway on the charges is really nice on their part. Especially when you KNEW that you would me making calls in a dead zone all the time. They don't have to credit any of it per the contract, but they are. Thats almost unheard of in wireless.

I am really sorry that this happened to you, but they did make a nice gesture, it's just hard to see that when ...

Well, we really don't know for sure if it's true or not. Anyone could fabricate a negative story about their wireless experience with a particular company and post it here and none of us would know the difference.

My question is how does someone manage to average talking on their phone to the same person for an hour and a half every day before 7 pm? The boyfriend would have to physically be in his house for that amount of time every day through the week, and before 7 pm. If they both work, and I'm sure they have to in order to pay rent, they would have to somehow timed all their calling betwe...

I emailed ecare at Sprint. According to them, N&W minutes are counted as such even while roaming.

There is also no info on the website that says any differently. Got a link?

to set it straight once and for all i have sent an e-mail to the department for employees inquiring about roaming questions. as soon as i get a repsonce i will post it. ๐Ÿ˜ if you work for sprint corp you can find it in doc-share. search roaming on i-connect and when you choose the link it will ask you to log onto doc-share, then look for the "got roaming questions" icon.

Sorry I can't post the link, but I did a copy and paste for you all on roaming night and weekends. This is THE correct info, black and white, my friends. Enjoy ๐Ÿ˜‰

On the invoice, all roaming minutes used are presented in a separate section called Voice Roaming Airtime Summary.

Roaming minutes are deducted from the customer's Anytime and Night & Weekend Minutes during each cycle.

The appearance of roaming usage is delayed by an average of one week, so it is possible that roaming usage from one bill cycle will be deducted from the minutes on the next bill cycle.

No such thing as Free minutes while roaming. Highly doubt that the sales person blatantly lied though, maybe just not sure and was assuming. I made that mistake when I first started selling sprint and failed to inform the customer that roaming minutes will not count as mobile to mobile. When he got his $850 bill he was slightly upset, but surprisingly remained even toned, so I called customer service for him and was NICE to the rep, explained that it was information that I left out, assured it wouldnt happen again, and all minute overages were credited.

Alot of things in wireless are slightly twisted with any carrier. Examples are;

VERIZON charges you for a full MB even if you accidentally hit the internet button on your phone. Estimat...

I have Verizon...I've been hung up on too. It all depends on who you get on the phone. As for Sprint being money hungry...I don't think so. That's Verizon. Have you gotten those bills yet??? My Verizon bill is never the same.

I've talked to Sprint sales reps numerous times and they have all told me if I roam N&W and M2M does not apply. So it all depends on who you talk to. Every carrier has bad apples.

I even had a Verizon cust service rep sigh in my ear when I asked them what all the surcharges were and then she put me on hold to find out and after being on hold for 14 minutes I hung up. Hmmmm...
