Questions regarding Picture Mail

I have the LG Rumor Phone.

I recently got Picture Mail so I can send pictures from my phone to other cell phones and email addresses.

Now here is the big thing....I notice that I need to be "connected to the Internet" to be able to send/rec my pictures. Now how can I make sure that I wont incure any charges while I am on the Internet (Becausee I was told that if I pay $5 for Picture Mail I would not have any other Internet charges).

I also feel kind of suspicious because I see the little up/down arrow symbols that stand for Internet connection. Now if these symbols are not color and grey does this mean that you are not actually using your internet connection?

as per kms picture mail usage like sending and receiving pictures does not generate data usage. ๐Ÿคจ
I personally have seen way too many accounts with casual data usage when using the 5 picture mail package with out a data plan.

Except for the PDA phones like the Rumor that doent do "picture mail" but only email that you can attach pictures to. For the question, am i being charged for data when i send a picutre, answer is yes, call in to customer care, explain the situation, something can be worked out, even if you end up having to take a vision pack, it can be back dated, to remove unbilled overage, then you can decide what to do from there.

What? First, the Rumor is not a PDA. It's a 3G phone. Second, the 5$ pciture mail package covers all picture mail data charges. Casual data usage rate of 3 cents per kilobyte applies to any other type of data but there's nothing to worry about in this situation.

they should make it work like Verizon. You get a set # of messages (txt/picture/video) for a flat fee. Picture messeging is much easier with Verizon...the pics are stored directly on your phone like any other text message.

yeah that is actually a great idea, that would elimate alot of confusion on the customer's side and make it easier for the reps too.

Dont get me wrong though, the 15 vsn pkg is awesomely priced for a unlmtd data, pics and vids. ๐Ÿ˜

I' like the situation like that. I have the $5 300 msg package for Alltel and I don't send txt msgs often but I do a fair amount of MMS so a flat rate for just the all in one works fine. It is a hell of alot cheaper than paying $15 for all three svcs and I don't use them often.

yea but my question is how do you actually differentiate between picture mail data and casual data use? Whethere I am using the "web" feature or trying to send an email, I always get the message of "Do you want to connect to the Internet". My hope is that Sprint is able to differentiate between the two so I wont get charged 3 cents per kilobyte for data usage.

Could just be as simple as any data used to connect to pm.sprint.com is ignored with the picture mail plan. Since when you recieve or upload, that's where its going.

It can only be backdated with in the same cycle the usage occurs. If you recieve charges for PCS data on the invoice don't call cust care asking to back date it for that cycle. It is not going to work. If you see data charges dialing *4 or we tell you in cust care that you have it durring the active cycle then we can back date it to start for the beginning of that active cycle.

* I stress this because so many have called in and had to give them the blues about that when they ask.*
