Kyocera is buying out Sanyo
Kyocera is buying out Sanyo but Sanyo will still keep their name and continue making phones for Sprint for at least the next 10 months. Anybody have any further details on this?

I only hope that Kyocera uses Sanyo designers. Kyocera phones look one dimensional and uninspiring.

Sanyo's designs are somewhat better and have better quality and reception. Our firm had Kyocera's that were provided to use via our corporate account. Uinispired looks and poor reception...Junk.

What's uninspiring is Sanyo taking the design of the 8100 and rehashing that over and over again for five years. It was fine with the 8100/8200/8300/8400 progression. What wasn't so good was taking that same look for the 200/2300/2400/3100, etc.
Regarding the 200/2300, we'd tell customers, "well, the 2300 has internet, the 200 is the same but lacks internet and the (unusable) outside display." Then the 2400 came out and we would say, "the 2400 is what the 2300 should have been, having a more sturdy design and an outside display you can use."
In the midst of all that, Sanyo decided to go back in time and place tiny monochrome LCD's on the outside of phones, whereas they had had color LCD's for years.
It was just one half-hearted...
