I have a Samsung N400 which is not worth ****. it crashes on me, hangs, people cannot hear me half the time. i also have the equipment replacement program, but could not get sprint reps to promise me a different phone. this is the worst phone that sprint has and even they say that it is full of problems that they cannot fix. i was told to look on this website to see if they still carry this phone. i wanna use my equipment replacement, but dont want to get the same phone. any one have any advice?

Through the insurance, they will tell you that they are ordering another n400 no matter what. If it is available, you will receive another n400 and you don't have a choice of a different phone from your insurance.

Maybe I may be wrong, but I thought if a phones was discontinued such as the N400, they would not send you another N400, because it's discontinued, that they would send you a comparable phone?

lockline actually orders from the same warehouse as the retail stores do when ordering a dhrp. you will almost definately be receaveing an n400 because those are almost always in the warehouse. if you do want a diferent phone though sprint does have a new for you prgram that is designed for customers that want to upgrade there phones.

if you have had your phone 18 months or longer, if you are on a consumer account, and if you sign a new 2 year agreement on a plan 34.99 or higher you can qualify for the rebates on the phone.

insurance how ever is not for upgrades. you can not crash your pinto and then upgrade to a porche. on the off chance you did not get the n400 it would be something comperable. which would be the samsung a500 or th...

The only real way to avoid getting another N400 is to request a specific brand of phone. I'd recommend requesting Sanyo. You might get the 4900 or 4920, both of which are fine handsets. If you say, "anything but Samsung!" that doesn't meet the specific-brand rule.

If you're willing to shell out the dough and you meet the requirements, you can just get the New For You rebate instead. You can check your own eligibility at:

Oh ok, the only reason I thought that was how it worked was cause my best friend had a Samsung A500 that I gave him, and he lost it and they sent him a Toshiba VM4050. Lockline had told him they didn't know what they were sending him but that it wouldn't be the A500 cause it was discontinued..My bad

If you're going through the insurance, you don't have a choice of another phone and especially can't choose the brand name. If the n400 is available that is what you will receive. If it isn't available, those choices listed previously aren't all comparable because they aren't all flips and they don't all have speakerphone.

You do have the right to request a specific brand. Generally, this is for people who prefer a certain brand and don't want to move away from that, but it can also be useful if you're sick of your current brand.

I agree except for.... umm... the LG5225 is NOT equivalent to the N400. if anything, they'd send this guy a f'n Nok3588i. Or an A460 since they still have like a million... I think an LG1200 might be comparable too... or any entry-level Samsung POS out there. I hate Sprint's Samsungs. Gah... I am not even kidding. ESPECIALLY the VGA1000... that phone is terrible....

ALSO, the 5225 is DUAL band, not single band. while it is digital-only and has no analog capabilities, it IS dual band (just not tri-mode, perhaps.)

you may want to be careful in your terminology. duel band is one of those words that can have several meanings. you say duel band and most people are going to think you are talking about a phone that does analog and digital.

this is why sprint has made sure that the 5225 has the term "digital duel band" on it's lit for that model.

and yes i was well aware of that. the real kicker is the phone is really "tri moded" (because it does 800 mhz and 1900 mhz) but is not duel band

this is actually the first phone sprint has had that will do both bands of digital and not analog previously all single band phones were only 1900 mhz

Sorry to tell you this but the n400 is still available and being replaced daily with itself, if you don't like that phone sorry, but the ERP is and indemnity style insurance program which means the restore you to the point you were at the point of loss, they can can only place an order for the phone you have, you will not get a lockline rep to tell you diff. other than if your phone is not available you will receive a phone that has the same func and feat. that your old phone had. if you have a problem with an chevrolet or ford that is defective you don't take it out on your insurance, you go to the dealership for help or to the manufacturer themselves. lockline is just the handler of the insurance and that is it, they place the order for th...
