Hustler25

If someone claims insurance on the A920 (discontinued for Sprint) what phone would they send? Any CC Reps know.

Assurion (the company that processes 'insurance' claims) will replace the phone for you with the same device or one that is most compatable.
Most likely they will have an A920 in stock. Even though the phone is discontinued now, there were ALOT of them made, so im sure they will have one waiting for you.
If by chance they dont have any in stock, they will replace the phone with a device that has the most similiar features.

EVDO
SD-card
camera

maybe you'll get ultra mega lucky and they'll replace it with a Fusic...

I think they're currently replacing A920 with Sanyo 4700's.

Hustler25, if i were you, I would be sure to have a copy of your Insurance Policy documentation with you when you discuss what phone they want to send as a replacement should it not be the original.

Reading the actual "Commercial Inland marine Communications Equipment Coverage Certificate" I see that:

Section III.A, LIMITS OF LIABILITY
"PER OCCURRENCE LIMITS
A per occurrence limit of U.S. $1000, applies to each covered Loss for repair or replacement due to Loss or damage to the Covered Property for any one Insured Subscriber. For any one Loss, we will not pay for replacement equipment having a manufacturer's suggested retail value of, or for repair costs that are, more than the per occurrence limit, less the applicable deductible set...

Damn! Mother FU****S cant answer a SIMPLE LITTLE QUESTION! How hard is it to answer what I posted, serious. Because I had a customer come in and his phone was defective. And he called Asurion and they did not know which one to send him he said. Im guess they might send the Fusic because before the A920 got discontinued it retailed at 299.99 and now the Fusic retail at 299.99. So I was thinking they would send him that one.

A fusic is probably the most likely phone they would relay to you, if not an 8400...it's all about features more then it is price really. Whatever phone has the same or CLOSEST features to your a920 is what they warehouse in Kentucky will send you. You can always call the Insurance hotline 1-800-584-3666 and ask them if they have the a920 in stock and if not then ask them what phone they got in equal feature. They will be more then happy to let you know what phone you will be receiving without actually following through with the claim! Hope that helped you unlike some of the people on this forum!
