How does Sprint Stack up?
I have Verizon right now and thinking about switching to Sprint when my contracts up and using the SERO offer to get free unlimited data 😎 with a PDA phone.
not trying to start a flame war, but how does Verizon compare to sprint?
...
there are so many factors that go into this. So you question can not be answered realistically. Depends on what you want it for were you live, price, and so on. I can say I have been with sprint like 7 yrs and love them. I get service were other don't. Even though I am roaming and don't know who it is with as my friends with verizon and cingular have no service at all roaming or other wise. They have the most partners for voice roaming. And now they have signed with alltel to offer data roaming and tit works great. So I can't complain. Oh and price I pay 90.00 a month what would cost me 180.00 with verizon. However they are both great networks.

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna switch. I still need to check EVDO coverage in my area (this may affect if i buy the PPC6700 or a regular phone).
Sprint's sparse home network (well compared to VZW) isnt a problem since they can roam.

I can't understand Sprint's coverage map. Which color is EVDO and which color is 1X / Digital?
...
EVDO markets I believe are the yellow orange areas and the 1xRTT are the dark green ones.
...
=P that sucks. My areas the dark green one. 1X is dial up speeds, right? Can I still use email and web on a PPC6700?
...
If alltel has EVDO in your area then you can roam and use them for evdo.
...
No, no alltel here. but can i roam on Verizon's EVDO?
...
Make sure you Zoom in and have checked the box next to PowerVision (the orange color) by default it only shows the green and you have to zoom in quite a ways to make the orange come up. Almost to street level.

no flame war necessary. I think both are great companies, I prefer Sprint for several reasons.
More control (force roam option, no standardized UI, cheaper plans, and better data coverage
