Hi and thanks in advance to anybody who posts a helpful reply.

I'm trying to choose a new carrier. I'm currently using Cingular in the Chicago area with the Sony-Ericsson S710a phone. I like the phone but the voice quality stinks. A few other people I know with Cingular in this area also have not the greatest voice quality, and they have different phones.

So far you've made it clear that:

1) Verizon screwed you.
2) Cingy & T-Mobile have poor reception where you are.
3) Nextel gave you the best service but you're too fashion-conscious to use a simple Nextel handset.

By processs of elimination only one left is Sprint.

I wasn't sure with T-Mobile if it was the phone or the service...the phone was that crazy Nokia 3650.

Also, re: Nextel, it's not so much the "fashion conscious" aspect as much as the fact that Moto's phones are kind of a pain to use as far as the OS / menus go. I will say that despite Cingular's iffy service around here, the Sony/Ericsson s710a has a very nicely designed OS and highly customizable menus, as well as having come with all the right pieces (save for the goofy USB connector I had to order) to make it pretty easy to trasnfer stuff between my PC and the phone.

But I do think I will likely give Sprint a shot. Although I did consider US Cellular (they've gotten very high marks - relati...

Sprint I believe was deemed "most powerful carrier in Chicago" or something along those lines..

There is a 30 day trial period with Sprint so you might as well check em out!!!
