Gsm is good, but not great. Neither is CDMA for that matter. The bottom line is that Verizon has done a better job of pounding it into consumers heads that their network is the best. I apologize that the marketing teams at other carriers are unable to do this. Tmobile's marketing strategy concerns get more minutes, features, dropped calls, and refurbed phones. Cingular fits you bets moreso because of all the plans and features. But only one carrier delivers where it matter most, completing and holding onto a call more often than not.

VZW has already started offering more minutes with the IN Network calling, which was a huge success. I"m sure there is something else up their sleeve.

I think the consensus in some of these forums is that...

I think his world will be shook up REAL bad after the first of the year, when VZW faces the first REAL competition its ever had.

Lets face it, they've never really had anyone close to them in coverage, or size. Their technology hasn't really been challenged, because the biggest players didn't finish GSM conversions until a quarter or two ago. Now everything is aligned to make them WORK to stay #1.

They are weak in handset selection, phone quality, data offerings, and a unified network where everything works. They charge extra for services others offer for free. And they base all that on the "superior network, and you can make a call almost everywhere" What happens when you can make a call almost everywhere on another carrier who offers...

seems that he found the wrong forum to post pro-VZW in.

Pimp's right in that they've not had much real competition though. They'll have to work to stay #1, but I think they'll be willing to do so, most companies are when it comes to being able to say "We're #1!".
