This is partly a rant, partly a question.

Is everyone Required to sell Home Long Distance?

I've been threatened with my job for the past few months over selling LD. i was wondering if everyone had to get 100% of their quota's in this or get written up.

we just became a corporate store and all of a sudden we have to sell this crap yet nobody wants it. Last month i hit 105% of my activations, 130% of my accessories, yet only 50% of my home long distance yet i got a verbal warning. this means ifi don't hit my LD this month(which i'm not going to) i get my first write up. this means for the next 6 months i have to hit 100% of all my quota's to keep my job....wtf?

I'm just wondering if this is the same all over or if it's just my wh...

I agree, I do not like being a corporate store. We can do more things but I'm not so sure it is better. Plus the way we get paid isn't nearly as good. With the whole LD thing, the first month we had our quotas, I doubled mine and we didn't even get paid for it. What store are you at?

not for your Home phone.

and thats part of the problem, people buy cell phones to either get rid of their home phone or to call long distance after their nighttime minutes start.

LD write-up only happen when your manager irritated with you. I know people that never hit quota and don't get warnings. I suggest you take your boss out for drinks or buddy up with the bos like the guys at my store.

๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ Welcome to MY WORLD! lol...Corporate Employee since Feb 06. And, the Long Distance service IS a huge thing because IT PAYS YOU!! I'm going on 6 months now, and I've always done well over 150% on LD quota. It's not that hard to sell. My store has a quota of 30 LDs PER REP!!! I understand that it gets frustrating when the cust refuses, but remember SPRINT is GIVING THEM $25 OFF their monthly bill JUST for trying out a service that has NO CONTRACT, NO OBLIGATION, AND IS FREE for the 1st month!!! Don't give up on it, because it's a HUGE part of your commission structure now. ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜

Not true Kimo-sabe.
The 25 dollar credit either JUST ended, or IS ending.. check out last weeks playbook, I think it was in there, or week before last.

Besides, its BS we have to sell something that we, by our very being.. are taking customers away from, the landline phones.

If you guys accually starting caring to check out what customers currently pay for their long distance... The answer is our LD is free. It has a $0 MRC and if the customer isn't using their phone for more than 50 minutes they won't ever see a charge for it. The whole point is ittakes customers off of AT&T, Verizon and other competitor's LD services so the MRC they charge doesn't continue to add to their revenue. It also reduces churn because if they ever leave Sprint they have to worry about nabbing a new long distance carrier. Think about your job and understand your product please... ๐Ÿ™‚

YO! 1st of all, who are you to come at me like that?? ๐Ÿ˜ก I know what my job is, and I don't remember part of it askin' me to memorize customers house phone charges. It's to activate, sell access, sell LDs, and Maximize. As far as "My Product" goes, believe me when I say this, I know my product. The post above was just a comment refering to us no longer taking $25 off the cell bill like before. That's it.

Having a quota of LD was one of the primary reasons I left Sprint -- I was a Sr. Rep at a corporate store for a year and specialized in pda sales and consulting for nearby businesses -- I would visit companies regularly and help them setup Sprint Treos / PPCs onto their exchange server, etc. I would take a sack of bluetooth headsets with me and sell tons of them while onsite, and would always easily hit my quota from new activations at those places also -- new employees, or the employees would start getting lines for their families through me.

I was treated like a serious business consultant until I would bring up LD -- i would be scoffed at and would be told 'I took you serious until you mentioned that; now I know you are just trying to...
