I have a Samsung PM-A840 and im interested in Samsung A900. Is it worth the price to replace mine? I dont use too many features so im mainly interested in how well it picks up signal and how clear the voicing is.

no i would not upgrade. the A900 is an EVDO phone that has all that high-end stuff that you dont need. The only reason i could see for you to switch is because the A900 looks cooler(paper thin). If you have no problems with reception etc. on your A840 then i dont see a reason to upgrade unless you get a bunch of money off. The only thing that kept me from getting the A900 is the battery is ****E! so take that into consideration (it has like 2.90 Hours talk time).
its up to you (i have LG LX350 and i LOVE IT)

This phone is pretty but junky. Samsun have a long way to go to make their phone work right. Using this phone makes me feel like using a prototype: a lot of bugs in the phone:
1. If you finish a phone call and fold up the phone without pressing the END button twice, the screen will never turn dark and the battery will drain all the way. To reset the screen, you need to turn the phone off completely and restart.
2. Quite offen, the phone would loss the singal strength and call information on the screen for unknown reasons, to rest? you need to turn the phone off completely and restart.
3. When you get in a no service place like a high rise building, oops the phone would loss it normal screen and display a funky rotating spaceship lik...

I call bullshit, stop spreading your FUD on this phone, just because you got a lemon. The phone works fine.

I've never used a A840. But, I have the A900 and I think it has great reception and crystal clear sound. Prior to this phone I had the A610 and although the battery life is shorter (the 610 lasted for like 3-5 days w/ extended battery) it's good enough for me. On the A900 I get two days of use with light to moderate use and one day with heavy use. I use internet and other Power Vision applications everyday and talk for 1-2 hours a day (light to moderate) on weekends I usually use the phone alot more but always make it through the day.

If u dont want all those highend features then i'd stick with the a840, or get something like the lg lx-350, or the sanyo 8300.

Heck no. The phone itself is great, but the service and billing errors is horriblr...it isn't worth a contract--even though if you buy it out right you don't have to sign a new contract just call 8002114727 and do an esn swap.......yes I am a customer service manager for sprint.

I love the A920, I think that would be a worth it upgrade
We're also getting in the Sanyo Katana which looks a lot more like the RAZR than the A900, that phone has a VGA camera and comes in funky colors. That may be worth checking out too, it comes out in stores July 9th
To the above poster: If you are a Sprint customer service manager, it doesn't look real good on your part trying to detour people from our service.
Sprint is a great service, and I give great service to my customers

Its okay, you dont allways have to sell everybody on your stuff. Im a cingular rep and even i complain about our prices and deposits to customers. Helps level with em ;)

as a sprint employee I would definately recommend it! The A900 has many more features and is an all around better phone than the A840. Just my opinion.

Slip the A900/A900M and wait until the RED RAZR and the RAZR come out by the middle of November as not only will both blow the Samsung A900/A900M out of the water as features and capabilities, both will be less expensive after rebates than the A900/900M.
