They still haven't resumed it either, according to this week's WirelessWeek... huge article about SE in it... they may resume at some point down the road, but have no diehard plans to in the near term.

That doesn't surprise me. Oh well, I live in hope that we'll get cool phones like you guys have. One day.

Sad thing is, CDMA has some amazing phones for the technology. Most of the vendors making them don't import to the US, because the networks here aren't ready for them yet. CDMA is like GSM in the respect that both technologies are behind the rest of the world in new development and implementation of the latest things.

Just look at what kind of stuff they are doing with phones in general abroad, and you'll see what I mean.

The real problem is the American consumer is not very "gadget friendly" when it comes to wireless. This affects both the CDMA market and the GSM market. Look how long carriers had to push SMS before people started using it. If it wasn't for the youth market it might still not have really sold.
American consumers live in a strange dichotomy with their phones: They want cool features to be available but they are slow to buy the phones that support them.
Amazingly enough very few other countries allow the carrier to subsidize the phone so consumers pay the full retail price, which no American will do.
