Someone please explain this to me, regarding early termination and plans

My contract expires on 6/20/06; very soon. I have a plan with 1100 minutes currently. I only use about 300-500 of those minutes. I tried calling Sprint today to see if I can get a lower minutes plan. They said that I can, but I would have to renew the contract for two years.

This did not please me, I asked if I can avoid the contract. I was told that I can get a plan with a "zero year" contract for an extra 10 dollars a month (per phone). So, the early termination fee is $150 dollars on Sprint. If I switch to this zero year plan for an extra 10 bucks for one month, I can cancel and avoid the $150 dollar early termination fee. You would have to fulfill your current contract first before you can go month to month. She did not explain that to you correctly or she is misinformed.
