Sprint phone insurance question

I've been having some customers coming in to ask what they will get when they call in to request a phone replacement. Most of the time I can tell them that they will get what they already have, but a few have had the Sanyo 8100.

That phone was recently discontinued and I was wondering if anyone had any idea what they could/would get for a replacement.

I'm a dealer, so I don't know what they keep in stock for replacements. Any help would be appreciated.

AS with all wireless carriers Sprint has nothing to do with the insurance replacements.
Insurance companies will replace the phone with whatever phone they think is comparable. They often have old phones way after they are out of every retail chain. Often they will replace a camera phone with a non camera phone or a readilink phone with a non readilink phone, etc.
When making their claim the customer must inform the insurance company of the features that the old phone has that they need in their replacement phone. This is very important or a VM-4500 may be replaced with a VI660. The insurance company will try to save money at all costs.
The other game that is played is reconditioned phones that have not yet been reconditioned. There is ...

Very true... Lockline provides insurance to a number of wireless carriers, and I know from experience that they have at least two phones to choose from if the phone being replaced has been discontinued. If the phones offered as replacement aren't comparable, it is possible to get another choice, though sometimes tedious. When in doubt, call sprint customer service and get the number to their insurance provider, who will be able to provide information as to the currently offered phones used to replace any discontinued model.

You are correct that lock\line provides insurance to a number of wireless carriers. However, each carrier has a different policy with different terms including what makes a phone comparable.

I have insurance on my phone and have asked a lot of questions about the coverage. If you file a claim and receive a phone that is missing a major feature (like the camera) call them. What phone you receive depends on what they have available to them and that changes over time. They may not even know when the claim is filed what is going to replace it. If they can't tell you what kind of phone you're going to get, they can probably tell you if they ever have phones that aren't sold in stores or who keeps the stock (whether it's them or Sprint o...

ignore spcsvzwjeff, Lockline will replace your phone with comparable equipment if your model is not available, if you get a phone that is missing functions or features, it is because you had a temp phone activated and the wrong phone got replaced accidently or you gave the wrong date of loss and they replace the phone active on the account at the date of loss as long as it wasn't more than 60 Days ago, read your coverage certificate, if you didn't get one then take it up with the store rep that sold you the insurance, they have them but very seldom offer them.

order will be placed for the model of phone active on the account at the time of loss, if that phone is available at the fullfillment center they will get it, if not then the coverage certificate states they will receive comparable equipment with the same functions and features. customers do not get a choice, if there phone is not available , Sprint decides what is comparable equipment and that is what is sent.
