Vision 2.0 & The Handsets That Drive It

Sprint's legal death squad has been working overtime to try to put the bottle back on this, we already knew a lot of info, but other web sites have begun hosting a detailed specification sheet of four of Sprint's upcoming phones.

Sanyo 5600 - Samsung's A700 with ReadyLink, Memory Card Slot, QVGA Screen, Speakerphone

Sanyo 7400 - This phone represents a merger of the 8000 series and 7000 series. The durable camera phone will have a megapixel camera, streaming video (QTV) playback, as well as MIDP 2.0.

this is a more recent example of the delays incurred in the wireless industry that can be applied to the posts on EV-DV. don't believe it's coming out till it's out. sprint is notorious for announcing false launch dates and having to push things back.

Would you rather that they put out half-baked systems and solutions?
With all of the problems other carriers have had with launches I am glad they make sure it works right before they give it their blessing.
"False" launch dates are going to happen with technology, it is inevitable. By now all of Europe as well as Japan were going to have seamless WCDMA networks in place that is if you would have believed the press back in 1999. To the credit of the European carriers they were wise enough to make sure it is a workable system before major launches.
When EVDV comes out is will be great. If it comes out before handsets and before it can be made to work reliably there will be a problem.

actually, i give sprint props for waiting for a nationwide rollout. it's the pushbacks that make me mad. i work in direct sales and i am alwys one of the last to know. so, if an official launch date gets to me from the bosses, they really believe that it's going to be up and working on that date. when sprint does a rollout, they do it right. it just takes forever. the point i was just trying to make is that everything gets delayed with sprint, several times.
