Sprint PCS sucks because they only operate on PCS and no other tech. Bragging that you are 'all pcs' is like bragging about only having 1 leg.

i wonder if he knows sprint originally started in the 800mhz amps but sold it's licenses so that it could have one complete network where all your features worked the same....
is that quite the same as one leg? i don't think it is. however, if you had both an 800mhz amps and a 1900 mhz pcs network, i would say that is more like having one leg 6 inches longer then the other..... all you do is end up gimping around in a circle.

i'm not sureof it, so i can't say anything about amps, but i know sprint also started with GSM back in the day and decided to sell out of it in favor of cdma. they felt it would be a better technology to go with.

touche, So VZW has a gimpy leg and a good leg, but sprint has just 1 good leg. I guess your right, Sprint saves on shoe costs.

PCS is only a frequency band, between 1800 and 1900 MHZ. Verizon has only PCS band service in many markets. I think people don't understand what Sprint is trying to say. They are the only all digital carrier built from the ground up. They did not buy a bunch of other companies and try to cobble multiple networks into a single network like Verizon, Cingular or ATTWS. They have built their network and so all features operate identically everywhere on the network. Upgrades to the network are rolled out on the entire network simultaneously without the painful market by market conversion that other carriers are forced into.

And we are all very proud of them, but since VZW and Cingular already agreed how we plan to divide the world, Sprint PCS drew the short straw and so will be the provider for Antartica. We plan to airlift their towers down there.
