No. Nobody knows anything. When it shows up on the website, then you'll know. Now go play in traffic.

I'm just tired of seeing the same damn question over & over again. I can understand being curious about handset release dates, but come on now...

They seem to be quiet about product release dates. We hear about a new phone shortly before shipments arrive. Phones have arrived in stores only days after they are shown on Phonescoop. Keep in mind that there is a 3 megapixel phone being offered by KDDI in Japan which also operates a CDMA-2000 network. It is possible that a 1mp cameraphone will be skipped in favor of better resolutions.

That would be even better. I wonder why the U.S. is so far behind the other countries in terms of offering better wireless phone technologies.

It's not a matter of technology lag, KDDI operates an identical network to Verizon, Sprint, Altell and US Cellular. The issue is what the American consumer will buy.
Japanese consumers will accept techie changes in their wireless phones, in fact they thrive on them. American consumers are hesitant to even use such low tech options as text messaging. Picture phones are extremely popular here but people are hesitant to subscribe to the data services required to send pictures.
This is one area where GSM has an upper hand.
GSM phones are extremely cheap to build because it is a mature technology so there is less financial strain on carriers to buy phones with the features. GSM's data limitations make it less practical than any form of CDMA...

at the risk of being premature....

i have heard romers of sprint getting the audiovox 8920 next month.... and not just because i read it on phone scoop 😉

then there will also be another phone that i can not tell you about that will have produced by samsung it will be a mega pixel phone as well as have to power to do streaming multimedia....

but my question is.... how long would it take to send a megapixel photo at 144 kb/s peek rate?

in my openion i really do not think that the 1xtrr is really suited for a megapixel camera who wants to wait 5 mins to send one stiking picture?

how many megs is in one mega pixel any ways?

That is part of the problem.

Yes the audivox 8920 is coming soon, it is on rebate forms, the only problem is that the phone is having RF issues (go figure).

The Samsung megapixyl phone is the A700. www.sprintpcsinfo.com has lots of good details. basically it will stream video in and out allowing for PTT with video. True video conferencing is not available until ev-dv comes along with the ability to use data and voice simultaneously. I know alot more about the A700 if anyone has questions I will try to answer them the best I can under the limitations i was given when i was told the info.
