okay, i want a new phone...

i have an old a620 and i don't like any of the phones sprint has...the a840 is nice but it doesn't have a color ext screen...the a880 does, but lacks speakerphone...

just for the heck of it i looked at the nextel phones and saw that the i860 has everything that i want with a videocamera to boot, but...

does any1 know if i can get that phone to work on my sprint (now "Sprint, Together With Nextel") account? i guess i would have to get my sprint number ported over to a nextel account, but is there any other issue i should consider?

just wanted to see if anyone had any advice for me before i call cust care

The move is considered an upgrade. You need to check when you are available for an upgrade. There is no penalty switching to Nextel and you will need to find a plan you want - not all of them are available on Nextel phones.

You should be able to switch over with no problems and port your number. You will not get charged an ETF or a deposit. Just go to your local Sprint/Nextel store.

Actually, if you had a deposit with Sprint, you might have a deposit with Nextel. Just so people understand. The i860 has a 10 second video camera, it's been on the market for almost a year. Nextel's data speed is like dial up. Do alot of research before you "inter-company" port.

thanks for all the help, guys...

i've been calling *2 all day, but everytime i call i get someone with an indonesian, indian (asia) or other overseas accent, and although i know that they would prolly be just as knowledgable, if not more, as an american or canadian, and they are prolly more competent than their native-english-tongued counterparts...but i end up hanging up before i get my answer because i just can't understand them through their thick accents...

anyway, i'll try to find my way to a nextel store or kiosk sometime in the next few weeks and see what they tell me...

think there's a possibility of me being able to start a whole new account, so i could get a activation rebate?

The only way you can do that is if you get a new number with nextel, the only problem with that is that if your still under a contract and you decide that you dont need the other phone you will get charged a ETF. but you will have a new account with nextel.
