SMS upgrade for Sanyo 5300??

Is there an upgrade for the Sanyo 5300 so that I can do text messaging/SMS on the phone without having to hook up to the Wireless Webb? I can do this on my Sanyo VM 4500 and it is so much better. Thanks

There are no software reflashes that will enable any phone that uses Short Mail to convert it to SMS. There will not be anything either that will make this possible. If you want to use SMS you need a phone w/SMS.

All the old Sprint phones do not have a system upgrade except for the Treo 600. You are going to have to go get a new phone. I know it sucks, but Sprint has to make money somehow.
