you don't have to say a word to VZW to switch over to SPCS, and the PTT (Ready-Link) is a ton better that VZW's

the contract only requires that you stay with the company, the phone and plan are good until you change it.

IF you're porting your #, just go to Sprint and they can port it. You must be out of contract, or your port request will be kicked back as not available for porting. On PTT, Verizon's can do up to 20 at one time, SPrint's is 5. So unless you're using for business use and need to walkie talkie 20 persons at once, then no need to worry.

please dont b.s her...
I have been waiting for sprint to port a number over since november of 2003....
they say they will not even let the phone leave the shelf till the port is complete...
so much for letting you use your phone as the port takes place....
save yourself and just get another number..or go elsewere....you will soon find out that the PCS in the logo stands for POOR CUSOMER SERVICE. 🙄

I was porting from VIrgin mobile to sprint .... Virgin to those who are not familiar... Is a 'PAY AS YOU GO' service and the best I have been with.... I just hope that they will in the future offer free nights and weekends...soon and that happens... I am back with them in less than a heart beat, faster than a New York minute, you will hear the sonic boom. thats how fast....get the picture... and I know alot of others will be too....none of this contract B.S. 😉 😉 😉
DO YOU HEAR ME VIRGIN MOBILE...?

a little known stipulation on the number port issue is you can't port a pre-paid/pay as you go phone number unfortuneately, another little known item is if you have a non-national carrier, you won't be able to port untill may 26th, 2004. sorry you are having such a negative exp.

thats odd....the only reason I did it was cause my friend that also had Virgin had successfully accomplished a port over to sprint just one month before.

Did you know that ia have talked back and forth to both cariers and found out the sprint leases the numbers to virgin...so in a sense they still own that number...so how hard can that be to port over a number that you already own.? 🙄

your persentage and theory is wrong.....vigin is theyr own entity but the numbers they give out are sprints as they use sprints networks....so ....even if your right ..but I checked and know that I am right on here from talking to techs for 8 hours at a time..
Sprint cant port over thier own numbers?.....
Now how confident does this make a client to want to go there and even try? 🙄

sprint owns 40% of virgin USA, and Richard Branson (Owner if everything Virgin) owns most of the rest, virgin gave the stock to sprint in return for usage of their nation wide network at a cheaper price, my dad signed the contract for sprints end of the deal.

now i know that you are the expert on the subject but hear is the reality of the situation

sprint owns 40% of virgen mobile. virgen owns the other 60% it is wha is called a joint venture. don't you think it is funny that sprint is the only carrier in the world that does not have there own prepay? (it is because they do) now why is it not marketed under sprint?

the answer to that is the sprint name stands for the best technology... prepay stands for cheep/nocredit.... now if you are a company like t-mobile (no offence to t-mobile but they do brag about being the cheepest) then you tell people you are cheep cheep cheep.... get more...

prepay does not fit into the strateguy of sprint.... so they market it under the name virgen....

he knows about the first half about sprint and virgin, but about porting a prepaid being illegal i don't think so. it is just not mandated that it work. if it does you are lucky, if it doesn't, the law is currently on the side of the carrier.

no i had it all correct. you are thinking illeagal as strictly if i do it i goto jail.

the law stipulates that prepayed phone numbers are not portable. if you port the number from a prepayed you are doing something not allowed by the law i.e. illeagal. is there a fine? no. do you got jail? no.

kind of like when a company keeps in accuare accounts of there earnings. 🤣

the law only says that prepaid carriers do not need to abide by the mandates of WLNP, if they do it is a bonus
