This was more for kyocera and David blaine than it was for Sprint. Sprints high end phones run on wimax this does not which is a clear indicator this is,not a flagship phone but more about innovation. Sprint still has a whole line of Evo's coming, along with the Galaxy S2 & those new lg phones could hit Sprint on top of a 3.0 honey comb tablet. Sprint still has the best phones avaliable right now and they would be stupid not to release something big at ctia or before the iphone 5 drops.

If that is the case then Sprint should have let Kyocera launch it by themselves. Getting in bed with Kyocera is like marrying a two dollar *Bleep*. It's one thing to *Bleep* her but to be seen in public with her? Put a ring on her finger? 🤭

Laughingstock! All your friends are laughing in your face.

Agreed but if that 2 dollar bleep was Carmen Electra that wouldn't be the case. Maybe kyocera has finally got a winner just like apple and motorola.

1. That first sentence was insulting. Carmen Electra is at least a $10 bleep.

2. Apple didn't "finally have a winner". They've released phones that work within their expectations. No busts yet. And while Moto has had some crappy phones, they've built a history with reliable devices, specially within our Nextel branch.

Carmen https://www.phonescoop.com/carriers/forum.php ?fm=m&ff=1&fi=2646301#Electra was a stripper at one point but is now certainly not a $2 bleep.

Apple iphones have been complete bust the avg consumer just failed to realize it and will buy anything with a apple logo on it. 😉 Come on really who buy a phone with a antenna that will drop calls instantly on you? Apple drones 😈 Had any other phone had press like that it would have failed immediately but because its was the iphone it still went flying off the rack. 🙄

The iPhone could be labeled with a warning that stated, "Warning, phone may overheat, drop calls, turn off, not receive data signal or explode." and these apple drones would STILL be first in line to get one all because of the logo on the back. The Galaxy S 4G is easily twice the phone the iPhone 4 is and they still don't sell nearly as fast.

That is as far from the truth my friend!

How is that far from the truth? Sprint doesnt have the iphone, thats it, it's great but not the end all be all of phones. The next two best phones on the market are the EVO and the EPIC. Sprint does arguably have the two best phones out right now.

EVO-EPIC ok what about the thunderbolt and bionic? How many droids does sprint have that they actually sell alot of? Verizon has the best line up. Maybe not by far but def better then anyone else.

Really? where can i go buy a Thunderbolt or a bionic? I thought we were talking about phones that are actually out. Sprint will have more high end Android phones that are just as good if not better than those, why wouldn't they? Also Sprint has a sold (unoffically) a f*** ton of Tranforms and the LG Optimus is probably the best 3G Android phone out.

As to the thunderbolt yes you can pre-order it now. Now as to your claim how do you figure you have the best line up? Verizon has the droid x, pro,incredable,global,r2-d2,fasanate and to top it off the iphone and soon to be the bionic as well as the t-bolt. Not to mention the first heavy duty android phone. To bad sprint doesnt have great coverage to go along with the optimus...just sayin.

First heavy duty android phone is actually the Motorola Defy for Tmobile. Weather resistant android.

Hmm.. you might be right. I forgot about that phone honestly because of how much it was universally hated by reviewers.

I guess I should qualify: The first decent midrange/high end heavy duty phone was the defy.

The i1 was a good phone. The average user had unrealistic expectations..usually that they were gonna get an EVO on nextel. But if you knew what you were getting the i1 is far from the worst android phone i've ever seen.

For cereal.

I always advise my Nextel customers to ensure they're on Wi-Fi when downloading apps, etc. with the i1. The only real problem with the phone is the iDen data netwo---oh, that's right. iDen doesn't have a data network. 😉
But honestly, it's a great phone. Setting proper expectations for customers is so important. I can't believe so many sales reps neglect to do so.

If you are just going to list all the android phones you've carried thats cool, i could've done that too and added like another 6 phones to the list. I was listing current/quality phones.

And keep drinking the big red kool-aid if you think verizon's coverage is drastically better than Sprint's. It's marginally better admittedly and depending on the area there are plenty of places Sprint is stronger. Both leaps and bounds better than at&t honostly.

Why is it that people claim someone else is drinking the competitions' "koolaid," when the person saying it is obviously drinking their own?

If you are referring to me, how am I drinking sprints kool-aid? I'll be the first person to admit their short comings..including the hyping of a press conference to announce the utterly meh looking Echo. But sprints coverage is the last thing of theirs to criticize. Verizon's coverage is a little better, but not everywhere and not better ENOUGH to knock sprint. The ppl that need to worry about coverage is at&t.

In my experience, anyone who uses the "you drink the kool-aid" line is apt to be drinking their own brand's kool aid anyway. I was stating that generally, and I apologize if it sounded specifically directed at you.

Awesome! Drink the kool-aid and everything will come together and you'll see our socialistic values we want to push on people, especially small business. Is Sprint talking Jim Jones style? Electric kool-aid acid test? Or do they think they're the ones who are coining the term drink the kool-aid, INDUSTRY FIRST!!!! Awesome Sprint awesome

I will tell you this... sprint considers this a flagship phone. You should see their intra-net computers all it talks about is this stupid pos. Dan Hesse is obessed with this phone he thinks its a winner... I really dont think he knows much about technology and what people want.

This Echo is definitely a miss in my opinion. But idk if id go so far as saying he doesn't know much about what ppl want. His vision alone as turned this company around which is an amazing feat, and along with Farad whats his face (our product guy) got the EVO and the EPIC on Sprint.

his vision hasnt turned it around as you think. His vision is trying to be different and its not working as much as they advertise. The reason they got the echo was becasue they couldn't get an htc or lg or an apple exclusive. Its a sign of things to come in 2011 for sprint.

I disagree, only because I'm not basing my opinion on advertising but based on our quarterly performance for the last two years. Our 4Q 2010 was awesome (for us) by the way. But i guess we'll both have to wait and see. I have faith Sprint will be coming with some dual core beasts soon hopefully, ready for a change from my EVO (not that its not still great.)

Me. Any phone that can sell five million a quarter on AT&T should at least give a sales person pause. Like... "Man, what if WE sold that phone?" I sold phones that I thought were crap when I was in sales. Sure, there was a slight twinge of conscience when an Audiovox (especially the Mitsubishis) or Kyocera or Motorola walked out the door, but the commission check usually erased that bad feeling from my mind.

I know there is no defense for my actions but I am going to try anyway.

I never suggested those phones to a customer. They forced me to sell those phones to them. I always preferred LGs.

*Sigh* I'm going to hell for selling those Kyoceras aren't I? ☚ī¸

Aw man that 2135 was the worse, too. It was ugly and cheap at a time when Verizon had much better flip phones at the same price point and damned if those fools didn't pounce on that phone like a fat kid on a free scoop of ice cream.
