Mi-Fi Data Plan Question

If I have a Mi-Fi but received a laptop with a built in Sprint card can I just transfer my current account to the laptop and deactivate my Mi-Fi? 😕

Seems like it would simply be a matter of changing your ESN/MEID to that of the embedded card.
