Will WiMax make it to markets that have not yet gotten Rev A?

Just wondering, bu does anyone know if WiMax is slated to roll out in markets that don't have EVDO Rev A yet, such as El Paso, TX. I wonder because there is Clearwire services in the area but no Wimax announcements. It'd be a bummer to get a great phone that'll be hobbled by REV 0 service AND still have to pay the $10 premium.

El Paso is in the boonies as far as sprint is concerned. EVDO jus go to EP in 2007 It'll be awhile before we get Rev-A much less 4G. If you are getting the phone, it'll only be because of the processor and quality of the phone not the network at this point.

Eh, when my Moment lags, I'll consider a phone with a better processor. Until then, $10.00/month for a processing power I do not use is too muhc... 😛

Going to have to make my TP2 last as long as possible, then. 😛

It appears that El Paso has DOrA as QChat works there. Clicking the DC tab on Sprint is a quick way to tell where DOrA has been deployed. If you are not seeing rev A in that area may want to have you devices checked.

Anyway, if Clearwire offers service there it will be upgraded to the newest WiMax by the end of the year. At least that is the last that Clear released about the old Clearwire markets.
