If you move to a place where Sprint does not have service, will they terminate your contract free of charge?

Most likely no. They wouldnt know for sure whether your lying or telling the truth would they?? If they did then almost everyone would say that to get out of the termination fee. Sprint will prolly give you roaming credits or something.

Well I guess they will waive the fee after reading the other post. I guess you have to prove you are actually moving.

Every cell company I've worked for (Sprint included) will waive the ETF if you move somewhere that has no coverage.

i think that's actually an fcc rule. the carrier doesn't really have a choice but to let you out.

i actually heard that too. also if you are having troubles in your area and Tech support cant fix it then you can have your ETF waived. it happened to many of my former sprint friends who are now with others.

WTF? When I worked for ATTWS we never let a customer out of contract if they moved to an area that didn't have ATTWS service.

Reasoning I was taught was...

Cust agreed to have active service with us for x months. Its the customers choice to move to a diff area and if we don't have service its not our fault. We're not forcing cust to move and we never gaurantee service in all areas. Its there choice and therefor still bound to the contract. They can either change plans to the lowest plan to ride out contract or pay the ETF.

Of course they didn't word it like that but I'm surprised that Sprint lets people out of contracts if they move to a no service area.

well thats att wireless. i am talking about other providers. you are suprised? so you would rather have someone pay for service where they have no service then just saying ok this is just a write off on our books and we can just keep in touch when them? yea, thats cingular's and att wireless' mentality.
