Looks like Sprint is going to make it official. After all the hype, the Supersonic may be coming to a store near you very soon. They are expected to announce next week in Vegas the launch of the first WiMax(4G) phone.

What do you thin? Will you wait in line for this Beast of a Phone?

Check out my profile for more info.

Has Sprint officially declared that there will be no sort of price increase or addon required to get the WiMAX service on these phones?

I have not heard of any such thing. I do know that in 4G markets they charge more for those data Air Cards to get the faster speds but you can still use 3G capable data cards in those areas.
I can imagine they would increase since they are touting the whole 69.99 is worth more campaign.
I did like the links on that Phonewar bio though,,lol had to see what it was all about.

Actually you don't know apparently...4G service is the same price as 3G, $59.99, for the time being anyway.

For a short period it was $79.99 for the 4G service, but the customer's weren't into paying that much extra for a 'sometimes' service, especially since 3G was still limited on monthly usage. It quickly dropped to $59.99 for it all, though.
