Sprint Plan Problem

Hey guys,

Maybe someone can help me. I have a ten phone plan with Sprint. I have had it for several years, and the price is just too good to change it. I am interested in getting a new Hero, but I have been told that I have to add a new data plan to get not only the rebate on the phone, but also to merely activate it? Is this true?? If it is, Sprint is likely to lose my account and 10 phones. Help??

Welcome to reality. All carriers require/enforce data plans for smart phones and PDA's.

Have fun with another carrier that will be even more expensive than Sprint's new plans. That makes zero sense.

This phone would be worthless without a data plan. Lets say Sprint could activate it without a data plan and then the phone did not work properly because you did not have a data plan, would you leave then too? You make no sense at all with your comment.

There have been so many threads about this lately, people have to start to understand that they will not be able to keep their legacy plans and use most of the new smartphones. There is no workaround for this whatsoever. I had a $30/SERO plan and switched so I could get the Moment. If you don't want to switch plans, then use one of the phones that are compatible with that plan. Simple as that.

LOL Sounds like an empty threat. The plan is SOOOOOO good that you KNOW that you are stealing money. It IS what it IS. Deal with it.

AS much as I agree with the other posters, yes you WILL have to change your plan to go to the hero..
HOWEVER..
Sometimes its not as big of a change as it seems at first glance.

Give us the details of your plan and we can tell you what the change would run you... we sprint bunch can be pretty ingenious with plan bundlings.. what with Business Advantage plans being interchangable now..

Let us know, we will try to help, but do remember, YES you have to change your plan.. no ifs ands or buts about it, but we will see what works best.

You wont get an answer. I bet he is on an old free and clear plan anyway where he isnt paying for SMS, and each line after the second one is $20.00. I am tired of these idle threats. cancel your account

Which carrier has better rates.... Stop lying to your self. Only one carrier has better rates and thats T-mobile. But with Tmobile you get 3g in only like 50 cities and you don't get nav or tv.

Still waiting on those plan details. Like I said, you wont get them. He wanted to complain and see if someone can give him a "secret" or a number to call to get what he/she wants. If you have a legitimate gripe and needs some help, you will be embraced with people who really want to help you. If you want to be cheap and complain because you can't get your way, even though absolutely NO ONE ELSE can get what you are asking for, then don't be surprised that the responses you get.

There are a lot of reps that post here for various carriers and obviously wont like it of you are looking for ways to illegitimately lower your plan or get out of your contract, you are hurting their business, and indirectly effecting raises and money for other in...

Pretty sure I talked to this guy on Friday. He got a Hero and changed the plan for that line eventually...after threatening to cancel.lol
Obviously a better decision than paying 10 ETFs and then deposits with a new carrier only to find out their plans are way more expensive for the type of phone he wanted.
