I am wondering if it is possible to use a Blackberry Storm from VZW on Sprints network? I spoke to a local store and they said no because the bar code won't be recognized in the pc...they are both cdma..any ideas? thanks

verizon phones have sim cards, while sprints do not, so the phones aren't even close to compatible, trust me...if it were possible, I'd have done it already, probably with the iphone actually.
...
Um... VZW phones dont use Sim Cards... Only Nextel, T-Mobile and ATT!

Rich Brome should ban you from posting LOL 🤣 🤣

Wrong. Verizon's network is a CDMA format, with some models support for GSM technology to support overseas travel, but the perdominant set of VZW's phones are CDMA. The Blackberry Storm supports both.
...
it is definately possible, but you will have to find someone willing to get the esn added to sprints database...that is why the rep told you the bar code wouldn't be recognized, they were close, but def. don't know what they are talking about.
...
Its possible but you need a rep from Sprint who can and wants to do it.
See the issue is if a rep activates a VZW ESN on Sprints network the reps user name is flaged in the system. Chances are the rep will be fired for doing such a swap.
And besides Sprint and VZW blocks each other ESN numbers in there account activation system, so another carriers ESN cant be activated on their network.
If you find a rep to do the switch. The phone will work but you may get charged for data and roaming even its included on your plan. Chances are if it does get activated the internet wont work since VZW gimps their phones.
Also Sprint and VZW blocks each other ESN numbers in there account activation system, so another carriers ESN cant be ac...

If you buy a phone "unlocked" (no carrier branding) it is possible.
Unfortunately, there arn't unlocked CDMA phones. Most unlocked phones aer GSM since it is the technology most international carriers use.
If you buy a branded, subsidized phone, it's going to be locked to that network.
