Honest Opinions Of Sprint Service

1st off i'm not a fanboy

I've been a Sprint Customer for 10 years

I've become so frustrated with Sprint and their policies that i needed a place to vent

I've owned a Palm Centro Since 2/08 I returned my Centro today for repairs to the Navigation keys

Mind you this has been the 5th Centro I've returned since 2/08

The sprint reps noted that i only had this model for three weeks before it broke

So you would think they would offer me a NEW Phone

Nooooo that would be to easy to do instead they offer me a refurbished Centro and the Manager tries to charge me 120.00 for the refurbished model

I got so mad that i politely walked down to AT and T only to find that they have all the phones that i desire but there plans ar...

your wife in my opinion is right. you get what you pay for, and MILLIONS of ppl are leaving sprint to pay MORE for quality of service..sprint piss poor customer service is driving millions away..over five million in less then two years to be exact...sprint customer service is awful as you have experienced yourself. is the money your saving really worth this type of hassle? i left sprint because their customer service sucked, i know have tmobile and verizon and couldn't be happier. sprint has a terrible reputation, good luck.

Sprint customer service is awesome. Nice that you have tmobile and verizon they won't even sell me a phone because I'm more then 100 miles away from coverage. But guess what I get Sprint coverage.

Verizon will sell you a phone no matter where you live. Extended Network or not. And what do you thing PCS stands for in Sprint? Poor Customer Service. PCS. 🤣

This is your 5th Centro since February 2008? Phone comes with a one year manufacturers warranty. The fault here lies with Palm...not Sprint. However, since Sprint needs you to have a working piece of hardware in order for you to continue using their service, they like most other carriers handle warranty exchanges. I remember the old days when I was at Alltel and ATTWS where we would have to give the customer a loaner phone and send their phone off to be repaired or replaced. In any case, do NOT pay a dime for a refurb...make them honor the warranty on the phone. As a last resort you may have to call customer service and get retention involved.

Exactly, ONE YEAR from 2/08 would be 02/09, which would mean the warranty expired almost 4 months ago.... 🤣

sprint cripples their technicians by not giving them parts! u r much better off having a tech fix your problem than having a rc/lrc exchange your device!

exchange = someone elses problem!

Now i cant speak for all, but it seems like it was deemed physical or cosmetic damage. Depends, but since Today is the last day of May, the last day for open enrollment for TEP (insurance). So call in, get the TEP then go back to the repair center and get it done for free. I believe Sprint is on the right track ever since Dan Hesse took over as CEO. It takes alot to fix a big company mistake. You'll be going back to AT&T paying more and maybe get worse coverage. The main reason why they cant just exchange it for a different one is because theres people out there who purposely crash or damage their device and keep going back until a new one is forced. It rarely happens, and those people have ruined it for the honest rest of us. I kid you not ...

Thanks for all the replies guys

I'm not fishing for a new phone

I just became frustrated with the Centro

The Local Sprint Store knows that the Centros have been problematic

I run a Real Estate Company and i use my phone Constantly for emails and Web Browsing

Out of the 5 Phones i've had The Local Sprint Store have given me 3 Brand New Phones

So it's not just the refurbished phones. The new Phones are just as Bad

My major concern yesterday was that i wanted to get rid of the phone but Sprint doesn't have anything new that entices me

I don't want a Pre and i don't want an outdated Blackberry (Which they tried to sell me on very Hard)

So as a customer i was stuck between a rock and a hard place

I'm tryin...

the curve isn't outdated. it has been out for awhile but it is leaps and bounds ahead of the centro. the 8330 and 8130 are the two best phones sprint has... imo

I'm sorry i meant to say i don't want an older Curve especially when AT and T already has the 8900 and When Verizon is releasing the Tour in July

I just felt like why are these guys so late getting new phones?

As far as i'm concerned there just isn't much variety

I went into the AT and T store and there is a Blackberry Bold and a new 8900 and a Brand new Nokia Smartphone and not to mention the Iphone

And what does Sprint have to offer?

The same Curve that Verizon has been offering at BOGO to get rid of their inventory to make room for a newer model

The Sprint Reps tried to sell me on a Pre But i don't want another Palm product after all this

i kind of feel the same way about palm but after playing with the pre for a while, i'm going to get one. hopefully this is the reinvention that palm needs. but if email tops your list of importance then any blackberry would do you good!

Yeah emails is extreme importance because im always out and about

And after doing some research on the Blackberry i think that's what i'm gonna go with

I'm a little worried about the future of Sprint though

I was telling my wife Saturday that we might have to look for a new Carrier anyway

I don't care how they want to cut it 4-5 Million Customers leaving is not good for business

Also i just read that Verizon will be getting the Pre In 2010

Which will probably keep some Verizon Customers from switching just to get the Pre

It's just seems that Sprint is a Troubled Phone Carrier that won't be around for long

The Simply Everything has been a great plan but so far as my personal situation it doesn't help m when they...

They lost 5 (more than half were business customers = economy) million customers yes, but they still have more than t-mobile, i don't see you saying t-mobile is going down.... They still posted a profit, a company is not going to fold if it is posting a profit. Also yes verizon MAYBE getting a pre in 2010 (if pre sells well then exclusivity will be extended) and not to mention when these other companies are getting the pre sprint will be getting a new exclusive palm os phone. And not to mention there is another smart phone coming out June 7th by htc so there is another option for you. It is not sprints fault that your centro you chose sucked If you bought a TV from bestbuy after 1 month they will not replace your tv or fix it unless you have...

Thanks for the response

But as i stated earlier This is not about getting a Free Phone or avoiding to pay the repair cost

There were other posters who stated that i shouldn't pay (BTW I didn't pay for the Refurbished Phone)

I wanted badly to purchase a NEW Phone

But because of Sprint's Lack of quality Phones, I was forced to stay with this faulty Centro

I stated earlier how i went into an AT and T store and saw a wide variety of Phones that Sprint Simply can't match

Mind you This is my honest opinion of Sprint

Obviously i must think they're ok

I'm a Premier Customer and have been with Sprint for 10 yrs

But they're sorely lacking in the Variety of Phones available to customers

As far as Sprint Futur...

I am sorry but it is really unfair to expect a lowly sales rep to respond to that sort of question. The Simply Everything plan is absolutely the best plan out there if one NEEDS unlimited minutes, but it was a response to Verizon launching its Unlimited offering back in January '08 I believe. The same day, AT&T and T-Mobile responded with pretty much the same plans and the following week Sprint dropped Simply Everything.

What is it that you expect a sales rep to say? He can't price match. He also does not make decisions on pricing. If Sprint's coverage works for you then I would stick with them. Many of the defections from Sprint are former Nextel customers. The Nextel merger was a horrible idea and I hope the spectrum was worth ...

Ok. So you're a RE agent. This means that you probably use eKey on your Centro. eKey, sometimes, when it updates overnight, does not update correctly, which causes issues with the device. It's a 3rd party software program.

Here are some tips for you (I work for Sprint, and my hubby and I are also RE Brokers):

1. make sure that your information is backed up regularly.

2. If you experience issues with the data connectivity one day (seemingly at random), you can then hard reset your Centro (or Treo, or whatever), reload your calendar and contact information and reload the eKey application (available through GE Security online when you log into KIMWeb).

No device is perfect. Some customers are harder on them than others. I used my ...

After some careful analysis i wanted to update everyone on this Thread

First off i like to thank everyone who responded to my thread

But after some careful analysis of my phone usage, me and my wife have decided to stay with Sprint

The main reason for us staying is The Simply Everything Plan

As i stated Earlier I run a Local Real Estate Company In Michigan

I'm constantly checking emails contacting brokers, and Texting Appraisers and Buyers

I also advertise heavily in our Local Papers, so im constantly taking and recieving calls from Buyers and Sellers

After Checking My Usage of minutes i was astounded

I knew that i talked on the phone a lot but i was shock to find out that i average 2200 minutes per billing c...

Enjoy it while you can.
I’m not bashing Sprint, they have done a great many things to improve their over all performance.
Although (unfortunately I can’t remember where) I read an article saying Sprint probably won’t last past 2011-2012. And like the cable industry the US wireless industry will be dominated by only a few key…albeit big players.
Too bad for us the consumers. ☹️

Youre so right andy2373 i saw that people are mad and frustrated over the Cell Phone Exclusives

That they're are taking the Battle to Washington

The only people who get hurt by Exclusives are the Consumers

If all the Phones were available on all networks then people would be able to ...

after working for at&t for many years and being new to sprint, sprint really does offer more to the customer. true at&t has the iphone and video share which are cool, they have such and old school mentality about the way they make money, take away and force. they are making money hand over fist but their ego has always led to the demise of the at&t name and yes there are people happy on at&t but there are many that are vocal about not being happy. i hate to say it but they have the means to be the best in the business. they just have and executive team that only can think in the short term and only what can we make our customers think they are getting is good. they once released a memo back in '04 when they had the motorola v400 stating that...

Ok i went into a Best Buy and got my hands on a Pre

I really wanted to like that phone but due to the small keyboard and the fact that i already have a centro, that i make wayyyyy too many mistakes on i opted for the Blackberry tour

Well i just got my tour today and it's kick ass

I felt as if i was typing on a regular keyboard

I had always saw comments from people about blackberry keyboards

Wow it fells great to have confidence that im hitting the right keys

I love this Phone

I've only had it a couple of hours and since this is my first blackberry everything's foreign to me

But im loving learning all about this device

I went to a Local Phone Company and they ordered my device

They called me when it arr...
