Pre May 17th release??

Any confirmation on this and other stories from across the web???? I'm dying for a PRE!!

Well, we're circling in, folks. Hot on the heels of learning that Sprint employees have the Palm Pre in hand for training, there's word from all sides that Sprint has put a vacation blackout on the month of May for retail employees, which would seem to imply that the Pre will be launched sometime in there. We saw similar vacation freezes on AT&T's end for both iPhone launches, and those ended up fairly accurate. We haven't seen this memo personally, or threatened any Sprint employees for confirmation with shivs fashioned out of Samsung Instincts yet, so we'll keep an eye out for any other information to confirm or deny. Meanwhile, check out this Pre h...

Make sure you go into the nearest Best Buy to purchase it since it will be significantly less expensive there than if you purchase it in one of the corporate retail stores. Once you purchase your Palm Pre at Best Buy and have any questions related to the device, just go into the closest corporate retail store and jam up one of the RC/LRCs. They will be more than glad to give you a Ready Now Experience. If they don't, do something on your account that will require the RC/LRC to tender out the transaction in iRMS. Each tendered transaction may generate a call to you by Customer Care with a survey. Just tell the Customer Care representative your overall score of that particular store was "very dissatisfied" or a "1".

Actually, we'll do the ready now experience and then have our manager contact the indirect account manager for the area. That person will then make sure that Best Buy gets their act together or that location will no longer sell for Sprint.

Our local BestBuy stores are generally clueless, but they know better than to sell something then send them to us for the legwork.

Sprint customers have every right to purchase their upgrades from Best Buy instead of a corporate retail store. If a customer can save money at Best Buy, why shouldn't they? Your job is to service customers regardless of where the customer purchased their Sprint upgrade. I'm glad I'll be with the DoD on May 1st. Good bye ASM position and hello to a real career. Don't worry, I'll make sure every person I know and come across who have Sprint service know about the value and savings at Besy Buy!

I don't really care about this guy, the majority of people who use this forum already buys online, so he's preaching to no crowd. I mean honestly guys. This is an online forum that maybe .0000005% of Sprint's base looks at, and if they have enough knowledge to look here, they're probably buying off the adds on the side. So him saying to go to best buy, the go to a Sprint store actually might help us out in a strange way.

There is no real savings, just they don't do the mail in rebate... when you go to a corp store you just have to wait 10-14 weeks for the extra discount to come in the mail as a pretty little check...

Like I have mentioned in all my posts, rake over the RC/LRC at the corporate store, get all the correct information from them and then leave them high and dry to purchase the upgrade from Best Buy. As far as the LG Lotus is concerned, as of today, Best Buy is offering it for $49.99 on new actvations as well as 2 year service agreement extentions si nice attempt at your theory. Besides, the majority of Sprint upgrades at Best Buy will be less than that had a customer purchased the handset at a corporate retail store.

Either way ac4321, even though I'll be with the DoD having a real job, I plan on doing everything in my power to divert as many Sprint upgrades to the Best Buy stores in our area away from corporate stores. I shall use my myspace, facebook and linkin pages to spread the word about Best Buy whooping the ass of Sprint corporate retail stores on the pricing of upgrades. If I can divert just 1 more person to Best Buy to do an upgrade than I shall be glad. If enought Sprint customers do this, what are the odds ac4321 of one of the local retail stores getting closed?

With my BS in CISM, I'm going to be making bank money with DoD. Even if the RCs/LRCs were just a hair brighter than a blown out light bulb, I still would have bailed on my ASM position. If I had been terminated for cause, do you really think my DM and SM, who even though are good friends of mine from the Nextel Communications days, would permit me to finish out the month of April. If a customer just rakes over an RC/LRC at a corporate retail store for information leading to a smart purchase of their Sprint upgrade from Best Buy, there shouldn't be any billing issues.

are part of the problem with the world. Everybody tries to save money in certain areas, this is why the economy is the way that it is. So because you are going to have a job with the DoD that means that you are better than everybody else. Without everybody else you are nothing. What you accomplish sets you apart. You should be happy with yourself that you have your bs. You should really watch the way that you say things. Karma will come right around and bite you one of these days. If you lose your job with DoD that wouldn't surprise me. Everything happens for a reason. What is your big problem with RC's/LRC's anyway. Did somebody make you cry or something. Get over yourself.

Grow up Midnight Toker. It seems apparent that you are a disgrunteled employee with an issue with Sprint corporate stores. But there is no reason to be using every outlet possible to divert potential customers away from these corporate stores and to a Best Buy. You are not effecting Sprint in any large way, however you are effecting the paychecks of people you have never met. Sprint employees as you know work on commission and Best Buy employee's do not. For what ever reason you are angered with Sprint corporate stores, the problem is not found through out all stores. What is your problem any ways?
