Hate to say it but the pre will be a step behind once the new iphone comes out. sprint had poor strategy. they should have came out with the device right around the iphone launch date. that way the iphone developers wont have chance to sneak in or tweak up what they plan to release. now apple knows what they are up against and itll be easy to find what they can improve on while looking at the pre device

Yeah right. Pre will blow the next iPhone "improvement" out of the water. And any drastic last minute change they do will have everybody who hates the iPhone as much as iPhone people hate everything else screaming how Apple is ripping off Palm.

Regardless of what they do, they're going to have to redo the iPhone entirely to compete. And given that Apple's progress has been mostly linear over the years (can't wait to see how much crap I'll get over this one).

I agree. The Iphone is not all it's cracked up to be. The Pre looks awesome though...

Yes, sprint (not palm) should have designed and manufactured the Palm Pre a year ago, even though it didnt exist yet.

Can we all just stop comparing every phone that comes out to the friggin iPhone.
Theyre different, theyre for different users.
People that love Palm would not touch an iPhone.

There is worry that the Pre will be a step behind once it comes out...agreed

But Sprint had little to do with the timing of when the Pre would come to market. Remember that the Pre is a "sink or swim" device for Palm. It has to be a hit in order for Palm to regain some of its glory ...

I wish the same thing about the iphone comparisons but its not gonna happen. Sad truth is the iphone is sort of the standard because of the sheer numbers and success they have had. Along with some great features and major draw backs the iphone is a litmus test for other devices.

I really think palm has got there hands on a good product and a great idea. The Pre will bring something new to the table the idea is a tad risky but if they pull this off the payout will be huge. The next apple phone may have meet its match. 😎

Just remember Moto too was on top at one time with the Razor phones and before Moto Nokia had the market. The more things change, the more they stay the same and Apple's days too are numbered.
