Are Sanyo phones still Sanyo?
I know that Sanyo was bought out some time ago, my question is how many models rolled out after that were still a Sanyo? I have an M1 right now and want to replace it with another Sanyo but nothing looks good right now. Anything coming out and if so would you consider it a Sanyo or a Kyocera phone? Thanks 😁

I, too, still own the M1. 😁 We went to White Water Six Flags in Atlanta this summer and I thought I was gonna have to replace it when it got wet. It still works great after I let it dry out. The funny thing is, my water indicator never turned pink/red. Anyways, I also would like to replace mine with a new "Sanyo." I would like to know the OP's question.
Thanx!

I could be wrong but didnt Sanyo just get bought out by Panasonic ???
The M1 has been my favorite "flip" phone to this day and am sad that i had to replace it (after the second camera went bad insurance sent me a Musiq ... this was NOT a "replacement" but a downgrade in my opinion) ... but has moved me to the BB Curve. I know its a whole different world between the two but i must say that i am quite happy with the device and has made a very sound replacement for my M1.
The rumor mill hasnt churned out anything with a new Sanyo lineup yet unfortunately. I havent had the chance to use the Eclipse X but it looks like a decent "flip" replacement for the M1 no ???

Eclipse X is a decent phone. Not a huge fan of the lights on the edges of the flip tho

Sanyo in essense sold their wireless manufacturing division over to Kyocera. Kyocera in turn created a whole owned subsiderary called Kyocera Sanyo Telecom, Inc. (KSTI) which has been responsible for the production of all the Sanyo branded handsets since April '08. The line up for Sanyo branded handsets for Sprint is already in place for 2009. I believe the branding with the Kyocera name is slated to start either at the start of 4Q9 or at the EOY.

Basically then, it'll be essentially the same as the Sony/Ericsson deal?

They are still Sanyo. That's not saying a lot, though. Sanyo phones have been pretty mediocre for the last couple years. They used to be a feature leader, have better reception, better battery life, etc. Now, they're just bland and blah.
😕
