first of all take it from me because i work for sprint. All the powersource phones ic502, 602, 902 etc. were discontinued because THEY SUCKED.. bad. The Nextel direct connect on sprint (the v950, pro 700, 200, and lx400 etc.) was created because the powersource phones were so bad. if you do valuse PTT then you will get the v950. The data speeds are faster (rev a) and the phone looks better and the service is 100x better. scoobypls please dont give ppl advice that you know nothing about

THE PTT ONLY WORKS IN REV A AREAS...

that is not good coverage if you rely on the ptt...

and i know more about those stupid qchat phones than i ever wanted to...i sell sprint phones in a rev a market and i wish they would put the power source phones back in our stores. I ONLY SELL NDC ON SPRINT TO CUSTOMERS WHO DO NOT USE PTT AS THEIR MAIN METHOD OF COMMUNICATION.

it is a novelty that barely works as it is...once the get everything figured out i'm sure it will be fine, but for now...STEER CLEAR.

it is discontinued in the stores is what i meant. and go into a store and talk to any rep about it and he will tell you exactly what i said. and iden coverage isnt better than sprint you jew.. look at a coverage map sometime. go to sprint.com/coverage and type in where you will be using your PTT and if you dont see sprint coverage there then dont get it, get the 902. but unless you live in the mountains or montana sprint coverage will always be better than nextel.

Why would I talk to a rep when they have absolutely know idea of real world experience. I work with hundreds of guys who use Nextel in the field everyday, we've tried qchat it's a joke, and it's all over the Internet as talk as being such. Sprint is in big trouble because of inexperienced dumb asses like you! Qchat works on REVA and it does not have the coverage that the IDEN network has! Jesus Christ I hope your really aren't that stupid.

It's retards like you why sprint just lost another 1.3 MILLION customers! Idiot!

we were very excited about the qchat until, hundereds of loyal nextel customers that had been upgraded by uninformed 3rd party reps flooded through our doors complaining about the coverage of the ptt...and trust me they didn't want to hear how great the voice coverage was, or want to go any where near a worthless freakin coverage map!!! they wanted there old phones activated asap.

That's true if you are talking about voice coverage. But Nextel actually does have better ON NETWORK and PTT coverage than Sprint.

Nextel: covers 274 million
Sprint PCS: covers 262 million (not all REV.A yet)

Btw, I own a V950 and my wife has the ic602. Both phones are great. Chirp volume is low on the 950 and speaker volume is low on the 602, but otherwise they are good phones.
