Just ordered my Motorola VE20

Somehow, Sprint customer service said I was eligible for an upgrade, even though the store says not till November.

Because I am a business customer the guy said, i got the phone at a 2 year price on a 12 month contract?

Not sure, but the guy sounded knowledgable so who knows. I am very excited.

My fusic phone is starting to go.

How much did you pay for the phone? To activate it, you could go to My Sprint at www.sprint.com or you could call cust. care. 1-800-639-6111 using a landline phone. ๐Ÿ˜

Avaya...i got a ?

According to the sprint online chat and corporate store, i wasnt eligible to upgrade till Nov...since i had a 2 year contract which expires in Jan 2009...

Why was i eligible over the phone, and only required to do a 1 year contract at a 2 year price? Just curious.

We are on an old Free and Clear Sprint Business plan. We have 7 lines on the account and a wireless internet card...we pay over 400.00 a month with all the texting and stuff added.

Did he do me a favor or what? I just wanna make sure what was done was legit. He said it wouldnt change anything about our plan.

We have an order entry system that we use here in telesales.
Whenever we pull up accounts of customers, (just like yours) we could see which lines are eligible for an upgrade and which ones are not. To double check if it is really eligible, (and also to prevent false information) we call a different department to verify. When they tell us that this specific line is eligible, we execute eligibility. We override the system to give you the full rebate where online nor retail stores can't.
Once we have placed the order, we can see also if it will be for a 24 or 12 month contract. In most cases it should be 24. But it seems the rep saw that you could have it for a 12 month contract.

Try out the phone first. You have 30 days you use it. If it doesn't satisfy your needs, return it to a corp. store just like what Yean said. Please don't return it yet. Put the features of phone to the test. If it passes your standards, then by all means use it. but if it doesn't. There's always the Sanyo Eclipse. ๐Ÿ˜›

thanks, i guess ill do that then....i dont want that eclipse though, i dont like the look of it, although ive heard sanyos are the best for sprint. I really wanted the instinct but they wanted me to change our plan.

im from telesales and we are the only channel who can offer the early eligibility for a certain customers who are under the special acct..the system will tell that youre not yet eligibile online but we can override the system to offer you that eligibility..you was offered of that because you are eligible for that offer...
call telesales if you would like to know if you are qualified for that...

well they gave it to me..and the guy said i was signing a 1 year contract to get the phone since i was eligible for that. So does that mean i get a new phone next August? Or does it extend my current contract one year so instead of ending Jan 2009, it ends Jan 2010?

yes its true..we offer early eligibility for an existing customers under a special account..they also entitled to have a free shipping and activation..technically it will be 2 year service agreement but since uve used your 1 year eligibility on your existing contract getting an upgrade would extend you for another 1 year contract..

so let me get this straight..

my orginal contract was supposed to end Jan 2009...i upgraded this month, August 2008. So when does my new contract end? The guy said i was signing a 1 year contract so i would assume it ends August 2009? Or Jan 2010 if you extent my current contract 1 year?

It renews your contract. Contract will end from Jan. 2009 to Aug. 2009.

so if my contract was supposed to end this Jan, but i renwed now on a 1 year contract, it goes 1 year from today not 1 year from the original end of my first contract?

So i am on a 1 year contract and can get a new phone next August if I need one? The last post confused the heck outta me lol

To clear things up, calls us at 1-800 SPRINT1 so we could open up your account and tell you when will your contract will end. Wish I could personally assist you on this but i know its illegal. ๐Ÿ˜›

like i said technically it would be for another 2 years..like if u did an upgrade this month that would end by aug 2010, it would be just 1 year in reference to your existing contract that will end by jan09, but by aug next year you can get an upgrade again because your eligibility for an upgrade will be only for 1 year..

i dunno why I am having such a ahrd time with this. Why wouldnt my contract end August 2009 if im upgrading in August 2008? My current contract ends Jan 2009. They are still getting me for 2 years when he said it was a 1 year contract.

Just a little FYI homesclice5484, IT'S A MOTOROLA. STAY AWAY!!!!!! Some things will never change. From my experience, the Moto VE20 does what the Moto RAZR v3m did: power cycles, text freezing, and white LCD. Just giving you my personal input.

Sorry about that. When you get the Moto VE20, go to a corp. retail Sprint store and exchange it for the Sanyo Eqlipse. That would be one of my recommendation. Make sure you have your packing slip and any other slips Sprint has provided to you, if you plan to ecxhange in a corp reatil Sprint store.

Yean, You don't need to knock the phone THAT hard before it gets a chance! lol. Dude. use your 30 days up to the fullest and give the phone a shot. My supervisor who happens to be a good friend has had the ve20 for the past week or two and hasn't had a single thing happen w/ the VE that happened with the v3m. The phones are nothing a like as far as I'm concerned. See how the phone is, then return it if you want.

you cannot cancel the order because it was submmitted already..like avaya told u try with within 30 days and see for urself..and then if not then go to sprint store or call the returns dept..

You do have 30 days for a full refund or exchange. The phone has to be in resellable condition. Yes, you could go back to you original contract, if needed.

The call quality was good, not great (vs. Sanyo). I didn't have any dropped calls, wap browsing was excellent, but for what ever reason, Moto and text are not seing eye to eye.

so the speaker is loud and clear? (sanyos have the best, my sister in law has had sanyos till she got her palm centro), but the sanyos are so ugly. I know, look vs. quality.....

YES! The speaker and camera quality are awsome. The new Q Chat Moto, has a FREAKING AWSOME camera quality, and speaker quality. That will be another thread I'll post soon.

hmmm so at least im getting good call quality i guess huh. My sister in law had this old pink sanyo, that thing was in the pool, sink, and thrown all over and the call quality was great.

Samsungs have given me a hard time with call quality.

Thanks for all the info Yean, when i get the phone in the mail im gonna test it for a few days and then see whats out there to switch it with. Although, if i dont like it, there isnt anything out there i want right now so im sure i can just go back to my old fusic and wait.

Thanks a lot for your help. I text and talk a lot, so well see how this goes. Im gonna have to use it a lot for the 30 days to test it. Hopefully they come out with something better in the mean time incase i return it.

I have the fusic, and while the speaker quality is pretty good, the speaker phone is so low. I had samsungs before and the call quality was horrible...always very low and distorted.

I ordered it 3 hours ago over the phone and was so excited....I dont really like anything else in the lineup and im tired of my fusic battery dieing and the 4 button messing up my texting cause it doesnt always work...

Now i dont know what to do...Can the order be cancelled, should I try it for 30 days...get a different phone....i dunno.

In consideration for the sales rep (like me) who placed the order for you, I'd suggest you try out the phone first. You have 30 days to use it. Don't like it? Return it or exchange it to another phone that you like. Yean is a very very reputable source of advice, no doubt and I won't argue about that. Give the phone a chance.

I suggest the 30 day trial. If you don't like it, you can always send it back.

Motos do tend to freeze up more than average, but all brands of cell phones have this problem, all of them.

I'll agree on you with this one, I have the V9M right now, and yeah it's flashy, but the M300 has less software issues and it's SRP is $50 lower than the promo price on the V9M!

Just sent it back. The call volume was horrible. They are sending me a box to send it back. One question...they said my contract was already extended to Aug 2009 when i ordered this phone. I never activated it, they said it will automatically revert back to my old contract once they get the phone back. Is this true?
