Is sprint purposely trying to go out of business? Did you hear everyone who bought the Instinct on their sero account are being told to return them? Sprint has gained a little breathing room, and once again is shooting themselves in the foot. Sprint is just a stupid company.

well the post is just a stupid rumor. So far its "word on the street" until i hear its a positive fact on my floor, then i can believe it. So far anyone can make that up to get their website more attention, depending what sponsors they have get their bills paid for more traffic to the site.

Chock this one up to the rumor mill for the time being, but word on the street is that Sprint is getting set to increase data costs for new and old customers alike. According to the SprintUsers site, the carrier will be axing their current standalone Vision and Power Vision plans, which start at $15/month, in favor of mandatory Everything plans that begin at $69/month. Sure, the new plans include voice minutes, Sprint TV, GPS nav, and more, but for anyone that was signed up for a simple data-only plan, this will represent a significant cost hike. What’s worse, we’re hearing word that SERO subscribers could be affected, which means that anyone on the current $30 all-in plan could see another $39 on their bill starting next month. Yi...

thanks for that!

I'll be surprised if they get rid of attachable vision. Not completely dumbfounded, but surprised.

Theyre not getting rid of it.

The plans are the plans.. if you want just talk, you get the talk, if you want data, you get the everything.
If you have an old plan and want data, you add it.

And yes, SERO is changing.. get it before the 10th

Will it be possible to upgrade from the ic902 to the Treo 800 without my $30 SERO plan price changing? I like the Treo 800 and was planning on getting one, but I do not want my plan to change. Thanks.

Unknown as of yet.
My guess is you would have to switch, but I base that on nothing but my own instinct

Sprint has lowered data rates with their new plans, not raised them.

SERO was not designed with a phone like the Instinct in mind.

You you ever provide any source to your information? Even though this is "rumor", BoyGeniusReport is a pretty reliable source and a few of the comments there are from Sprint employees who state it's true. Are you saying that Sprint will lower rates from what they are now? Or are you saying that they just lowered them because if so, they lowered them awhile back. This article (rumor) states that they are going up.

I've been hearing grumbling from Sprint employees for some time now that the rates would be going up and everyone needed to get ready...

Then you didn't read the article or you didn't understand it. My guess is the latter.

The talk is that they are going to RAISE the rates. You stating that they LOWERED them means nothing. Just because they lowered rates at a previous point in time doesn't mean they won't raise them in the near future. Which was the point of the article.

He's a fan boy that sticks his fingers in his ears and shouts "LA LA LA LA LA LA LA" every time anything is said about Sprint that he doesn't like. He's so quick to post a rebuttal to any negative statement about Sprint that he doesn't care whether it makes sense or not or if he's got any facts to rebut with... 🙄

Sprint raising their data rates isn't something to get defensive about. It's something they are likely to do to stay in business if not now, then in the future.

Don't worry. When Sprint is still cheaper than the other guys, you can always go back to your "Sprint has to be cheaper to have any customers" argument. 😉

Everyone already knew that the powerpack plans and stand alone data offerings were going bye-bye.

This only affects NEW customers though, not existing ones who are grandfathered in on older plans.

If Sprint forced everyone off of existing plans to charge them higher rates, they would be changing the terms and conditions, thus giving customers a loophole to terminate their service. Highly unlikely that will happen.
