If Sprint plays this one smart, they will offer incentives to existing customers to switch to one of these newer plans.

Why would they need an incentive?
Wouldnt the incentive be the better plan at a lower cost??

Current customers tend to have a lot of inertia when it comes to switching plans. Personally, I have had two plans in my life: 1) an old 500 minute plan before I got married and 2) a 450 family Fair and Flexible plan. Have there been plans better suited and cheaper for me? Yes, but I just don't want to take the time to switch.

Other reasons for the inertia is that people are generally creatures of habit. Most people will mold their phone use to fit their plan rather than have to change plans every few months.

from what i read on SU it will be priced the same two line for 89.99 but you get unlimited txt, pics..then qchat comes out on the 15th, so for ten bucks you can do the add on for that, and separate price for data too.

1500 minutes is $99.99

3000 minutes is $129.99

700 minutes is $$69.99 (no message or data)

pic mail and video will count as sms also and nextel, hybrid and sprint will be able to share minutes too (FINALLY!)

rumor has it the individual plans will pool minutes but i didn't quite catch if that is true or not i'll find out

so wait let me get this straight the everything plans are not going to have unlimited data, unlimited text;pic, and sprint navigation for 69.99? it doesn't sound like a good deal to me.

I have the everthing plan 450 will i be able to switch to a qchat phone and apply this plan and include the walkie talkie without extra charge?

Remember its 2 questions to be answered

That sounds like a T-Mobile Plan to me, they always have had great plans. Too bad the service only covers like 10 cities nationwide (sarcastic, I am well aware it is more than 10).

The new Sprint plans sound awesome. unfortunately sprint is cutting the commission that is paid to indirect dealers, so I am not sure if I will keep my store open to experience them.

Ok, I have the 700 minute family plan. I have 2 lines. I have powervision for both lines, unlimited messaging for 2 lines data for both lines and insurance on my line. I sell a ton of the 550 family plan, because it's a cheaper base family plan than anyone else out there has... now that that's gone, what is Sprint's edge when it comes to family plans? Nothing. I might as well coax all of my multi-line sales to Alltel... 900 min. National/1200 min. Greater, free nights and weekends, free M2M, My Circle 10, two lines is $69.99. Nobody can beat that now.

so pic and vid msgs is finally included in SMS. which means no more data charges for pic mail right?

so now since im on a power pack, that means i will still have data charges for pic mail, huh? and i'm sure if i switch to the new plan, they will extend my contract??

i just find it odd that vzw and att include pix/vids in their messaging plans, but with sprint its seperate

some people are just always negative

in november 2007 no plan required a renewal of obligation ever, accepting a promotional offer or discounted plan such as 3,000,000 minutes for $5 might or a phone upgrade.

why do they have an etf? to offset the discount they give on the phone... you don't want to pay an etf to cancel pay full price for the phone or get prepaid... all nationwide providers with phones of decent or really great quality have this policy accept it and move on

if you want to discuss a bad experience that happened to you in the past than email me but I can't guarantee i can fix it but you have to understand to fix any issues you have we do have an expectation from the customer as well... it is a business not a charit...

see you say that but it isnt always the case. i have not yet been able to change account things with sprint without all kinds of unwanted things happening.

hell i tried to do a simple software update and my razr went to junk. i had to fight for over an hour to get a new one. yea i have TEP, but im not going to pay $50 for a new phone when the old one worked b4 the update, but was useless afterwards.

i like sprints coverage. i like their pricing for the most part, but cust service is very important, esp since i use to work cust service (not for sprint tho) and i work in wireless now. i understand how important it is. i have never had a 100% good experience calling sprint. or hell even when going to the store.

i don't know the specifics but I sure wish I could have gotten a hold of a lot of customers as I feel i'm pretty good at what I do albeit I'm limited over the phone.... heck it may have been coincedence that it stopped working as well .... hate the original razr anyway i actually try and talk people out of getting that phone. either way these things happen sorry it happened with us.

wait a second... you have insurance but not willing to pay the deductible to get a phone that works?

for some reason that sounds funny too me...
...
tall408guy

May 28, 2008, 10:13 PM
i don't think it sounds all that funny. i myself have TEP for my phone as well, but when something's working perfectly fine before a carrier update, and then suddenly takes a crap afterwards, the consumer shouldn't have to dip into their pocket to fix something that wasn't their fault. just my .02 though

yea i hate the razr too, but it was free when i went to sprint.

when i had them in stock here with vzw i would outright refuse to sell them to people. if they really wanted them i told them they had to promise not to come back and yell at me WHEN it broke, not IF

you dont have to pay if you have full TEP you can go to a service and repair center and get a new phone. Unless it is water damaged, lost/stolen

They wouldn't charge you 50 dollars unless it was water damaged. I wonder if you maybe just maybe got some water on it. You said that you were taking your phone in for an update and maybe you thought something was wrong with it. (there more then likely was water damage done) You can't really expect to get a free phone if you say it works before you go in but after it just turned to s*** did the rep tell you tep covers water damage and they give you a phone for free, I highly doubt it. You are highly lucky to get a new phone for free. I dont know the full situation so if it wasnt water damaged then you're absolutely correct you should get a new phone for free.

I never called you a liar I just know sometimes people like to leave out small details. Not to mention I did say that if you had full TEP then there is no problem and they should give you a new phone right then and there. You asked me to read the original post and you just mentioned that you went in for an update, I just gave my opinion on the matter. I find it kind of fishy that they wouldn't give you a new phone, this is wrong that is why I said anything about water damage. Maybe you should read what I write and COMPREHEND

If I were a moderator, I would only warn folks and pull the threads that are abusive and disruptive in nature.
