New Sprint Agent

HAND

Im a fairly new Sprint agent. I have to admit that it has been doing fairly well for our stores since we added them. Ive noticed the credit checks are pretty "easy," so I have a question for those who have been selling sprint longer...Does Sprint have a high disconnect rate? Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

What do you mean by disconnect rate? Dropped calls or cancellation of service?

i don't think he does mean churn

churn is when a customer deactivates then reactivates just to get the "new customer price".

from wha ti understand it hink he is talking about the number of people that cancel service.

Disconnect rate. I want to know if in a few months Ill start getting all these chargebacks on my commissions for people that have had there phone discconnected for whatever reasons. Its not like you have to have the best credit in the world to get a sprint phone, but then again it doesnt necesarily mean these customers cant pay a bill for atleast the 6 months we need them to so we dont get a chargeback. I was just wondering what other agents have experienced. like i said, we've been doing well with sprint so I hope it will only be a small percentage, but low credit ratings usually equal someone who is good at paying there bills.

From my experience, customers that have come in to sign up for sprint have come back with good feedback and end up bringing more people in. I have had a few customers with the area wide plan come in to cancel due to reception problems. If this is the case, i would try to encourage them to not give up just yet and try the free and clear american plan that includes roaming. Lack of reception is the only reason i can think of that would cause a customer to cancel because the plans are great, phone selection is nice and sprint is known to be one of the better services in terms of reception and dropped calls. But then again it does depend on where you are.

Also, with sprint and nextel merging, the clientel should grow due to the popularity of ...

Maybe I need to clarify what Im asking...when a customer is signed on a 2 year contract by your respective stores, you recieve a commission. As long as that customer stays active for 6 months, you will keep this commission. If, within that 6 months, the customer cancels, service is ended because of lack of payment of bill, etc, you will lose that commission. Being that Sprints credit check is, put simply, easy, my question is do other agents have a problem with this? Losing commissions because of hi disconnect rates within the first 6 months of a new contract. Sorry for any confusion and thank you all for your info. It has all been very encouraging so far. Again, Thank You

I worked for an agent over the summer and we did Sprint, Cingular and Alltel. And our biggest chargeback carrier was cingular. A fellow rep had 36 chargebacks in ONE month.. all Cingular. I never had a chargeback with Sprint. In fact, the customers always bring in there friends, parents, baby's mommas/daddys.. lol.. Plus, the $125 spending limit most customers are approved with is a benefit on helping the chargeback rate stay low.

haveing seen the actual numbers reported by all companies sprint has a pitty low deactivation rate and the lowest churn rate.

to really answer your question oyu have to go back to the foundation of sprint pcs. when sprint pcs first lanuched there was not contracts you just payed full price for a phone and an activation fee then canceled when ever you liked. with the lack of phone subusidization there was no need for strict credit check espetually in a time when some cancelation fees were $300 and more. sprint developed a huge customer base with the what is called credit chalanged people.

in fact they are a great sorce for revenue. they can have any plan with any phone with sprint. with some companies out there you pay a huge deposit ...
