New Sprint Customer with a question about usage

I have been a customer for about 1 day now. I have the LG Rumor phone. I am on the Sprint website and under My Sprint, under Other Usage, for Vision Data Home, I have used 493. Now I dont have a special data or internet plan. There is no way I used that many minutes. I did dowload a ring tone but thats it besides a few seconds of going to Web and checking out the main page.

So is this for real?

That means you have used 493kbs of data at 0.03/kb you can expect a charge on your next bill of $14.79 in addition to the charge for the ringtone wich was probaly another 2.50

Thats why it is not wise to use data without a plan. And unfortunatly you probably wont get much sympathy from care because it tells you before you acess the web about the casual rate and then again before you download anything.

actually I really did not do too much "surfing" the web on my phone. I just got the phone Saturday and the only thing I did was go on the Sprint website and downloaded a ring tone which they said was FREE if I use the "simplyfree" promotion code.

I am coming over from Verizon, and with them I did not have a data plan because I did not need one - they had their own ring tone application you can access through your phone and the only thing you pay for is the ring tone itself.

With Verizon the only time you pay for "data usage" is if you are actually surfing the web. Verizon has their GetITNow portal which you can use through your phone and you dont pay to "surf" or check out the applications, you only pay if you download and install ...

you didn't get sero? dont matter call up customer care and have them add data vision for 15 bucks...it's well worth it!

If it was me since you're within your 30 days I would switch over to sero.

I'm kind of skeptical about getting SERO. I asked about it at the Corp. store and they really did not want to talk to me about it or they really did not know too much about it.

Plus I actually was added on to a family plan on Sprint. Its not actually my own account. I just got on with my fiance and her family.

Oh, they know about SERO in the retail Corp. store. They just don't want you to know about it because, 1) they don't get paid for it, and 2) they can't set it up for you. What is there to be skeptical about anyways?
