Are you trying to disable from the phone itself or from the customer's account?
...

On the phone itself. I only want to disable the secondary modem NAI.

If for the account,
I beleive any user's NAI can be disabled or suspended in the account.

If from the phone,
Go to Main Menu>Restrict and Lock>Data>

Hope that helps!

It doesn't. Thanks though. I'm trying to disable ONLY the modem NAI through the field service menu.

JM, how have you been my friend? Try the i-hacked, phonehacks, sprintusers, forums. Don't think the m520 supports DUN. If I find out how, I'l post or PM you. Did you try ##data# with msl?

I've been good man. I'm getting laid off though in the store closures. It's great for me as I was trying to get out anyway, now I can take a few months off while finding a new job!!! I picked up a couple of m520s since I have never used a discount for my Advantage Club or EDRP lines and I am not going to want to pay for the Blackberry when my severance runs out. Thought I would look into the disabling the NAIs, I'll try those forums. Someone will figure it out eventually, I think they just moved the option...

I take it you are still with the company?

That's correct. I'm still with the company. Verizon has been trying to recruit me in my area. If there's anything I can do for you, just let me know.

Hmmm...

I know you can get into the Data Programming by doing ##DATA# (##3282#), but you will need the MSL to edit anything in there and I am not sure if what you are trying to edit or disable is in their. I know there is a "Secondary IP" that can be edited.

Sorry, not really my field of work. Maybe one of the tech guys would have better info for ya.

On most of the Samsung phones you can go into a secret menu by navigating:
menu>settings>display>then pressing * or 0 depending on the model, then with the MSL you can toggle the NAI to off and it allows for PAM without paying for the PAM package, as long as you have the unlimited power vision plan then whammo, free PAM. They seem to have gotten keen on this as there is no longer a toggle NAI option in the field service menu on the m520, however I suspect there is still a way to do it.

Did you ever get this figured out?
I'm trying to decide if I want to keep this phone or return it and get a M510 in which this can be done.

No, I never did get a solution to this. I think they finally got around to fixing this loophole. Sucks, but not a deal breaker, other than that the phone functions very well as a mid range device.

it might be my phone... dunno. it just pulled up with nothing on the page.

i got into the field service menu, and none of the stuff that JM was looking for was there. i'm afraid they may have wised up to the free PAM?

You should have a primary and secondary NAI. MSL is needed and programming. I'd have to get in touch with my buddy mobile trojan, or find the coding on my own. Will let you all know.

Thats great and thats how you do it on most Samsung devices, however the reason I posed this question is that "toggle NAI" is no longer an option in the field service menu...

Yep. But I think you press 0 instead of * on the a900 to access the field service menu.

Type in ##msl# and see if that takes you in to program your phone number. If so, it's your MSL. If not, then it's not.
