Question for Sprint Employees!!!

What do I have to do if I want to activate a phone from a different wireless company on an existing Sprint line? 🙂

At the present time, Sprint does not permit the activation of devices from other wireless carriers including MVNOs of Sprint on either the CDMA or iDEN wireless networks.

i thought they were going to allow using another companies phone on their network? if not now than when?

Verizon made an announcement for using other phones on its network. Never heard of it with Sprint...

Even if you can use a device from another carrier, the SMS and data services probably wouldn't work so you would have a device that could be used for voice calling only.

well not all of them, the 8100, 8300, and env were all great phones on verizon.

As part of a proposed class-action settlement in California, Sprint has agreed to unlock departing customers' phones so they can be used with other compatible networks, including Verizon and Alltel. Sprint said it will share the necessary unlocking code with all current and former subscribers once their phones are deactivated and their bills are paid. The company will also train employees on how to activate non-Sprint phones on its network. The settlement covers customers who bought a Sprint phone between Aug. 28, 1...
