Does Sprint now support the standard SMS??
No more logging into wireless web to type a text message??

SMS is coming out this month. It will be $5.00/month for 100 text and $10.00/month for unlimited. There are only six phone that support SMS, call *2 from your Sprint PCS Handset do see if your phone is compatible.

It also comes free with vision.

It launched yesterday in four test cities: Kansas City, Columbia Mo, Jefferson City Mo, and Colunmbus Ohio. It works just as good as any other.
Sprint is also saying that they will charge for any sent and RECIEVED message unless the message was from a sprint phone to another sprint phone in which case the recipient will not be charged. How can they charge for Recieved Messages?
For anybody that owns a txt messaging phone before Feb 3rd will not be charged until Feb 28th.

Anybody know 1) if SMS will be included in Vision, or will it be an extra charge, and 2) will the Samsung VGA100 (aka a620) be able to be updated for it?

If you have a vision plan you can get the unlimited SMS added for 5$ as compared to the 10$ if you dont. No phone companies have put any plans to update software on any device spite LG with their 1200 model to make them SMS capable. All handsets however will be able to recieve SMS just fine but if you dont have a SMS ready phone you will still have to use the web to send messages. Nationwide release is currently being schedualed for Feb 3rd if all goes well.

there isn't going to be a charge if the message is from another carrier. the package is going to be 100 messages for $5 or unlimted for $10. there is also a .10 charge if you don't have either package. you can also add a package if you have vision and would rather use sms that short mail, keep in mind you have to have 1 of the 5 phones that this will work with

if you have vision you get 100 sms for free if you wan tunlimited it is an aditional 5$
