Virgin Mobile is part of Sprint and they had more activations then Sprint in the 4th quarter of 2003. If you tell me, prepaid can be profitable but it's non contractual and that is not steady income. Check financial reports, Sprint is losing tons of money. They are negative in cash flow. Watch TV, I am seeing less and less of that annoying Sprint guy which goes to show....they have no money to advertise. Also, the main reason that they came out with night and weekends starting at 7 is because they were trying to keep their customers from porting their numbers out to better carriers such as Verizon, T-Mobile, Cingular, etc. This advertisement conveni...

There is no way that Virgin activated more phones in the third quarter than Sprint PCS. We sold maybe at the most 2 or 3 Virgin phones in December, while on the other side we activated over 500 new lines of service with Sprint PCS, and we are a smaller store compared to other SPrint Stores. Virgin mobile is only affiliated with Sprint by using their network, there is not any other affiliation, we don't activate phones or handle any of their CS. Off course 7pm came out at the time of WLNP, thats pretty obvious, just like T-Mobile came out with 3-day weekends, its a way to both bring in new customers and keep old customers. You make it sound like its a bad thing that they are trying to keep their customers.

Sprint now has about 20 million customers......rcrnews.com
