When working for Sprint, a few co-workers told me that Sprint doesn't own its own network switches and that VZ/ATT/Qwest pretty much own them all and Sprint pays to use them. Is this true? I havn't been able to confirm this.

The mobile network switches are all Sprint owned/managed as far as I know. At least the employees are Sprint employees when we have to call to sort something out that gets stuck in the switch.

Now, the fiber backhaul is a different story. There are parts of the fiber that is owned by other parties, but that is the same thing for them as well.

I figured so. I wasn't sure if the backhaul was fiber or not so that answers that too. Thanks for the info ac.
