'Get Out of Sprint Free' Card?

Genesyxx

Dec 13, 2007, 2:23 PM
Sprint has mailed postcards to its customers saying that, beginning January 1st, it will stop charging so-called "recovery" fees and create new fees to replace (or possibly exceed) them. Sprint customers are now asking themselves whether or not this is a change to the Terms & Conditions—if so, then they should be able to cancel their contracts without paying an ETF, or early termination fee.

You are all wrong. No surprise there. You will be hit with a ETF if you cancel and both Sprint and a Judge will laugh in your face if you try to claim that Sprint is in violation of their contract. Remember the rants about how because Sprint raised the fee's on txting from .15 to .20 cents that it was a free for all to get out of their contracts? Yeah well nothing doing, for those idiots who did cancel their contract they are still fighting their ETF and they will not recover it. The language in the contract leaves alot of wiggle room for cell phone companies. For example the reason the txt messaging ruse didn't work was because Sprint doesn't make you text and you have the option of getting a txt package. Same thing with Recovery fee's, whe...

Hmmm...exactly where does that assumption come from...that is besides your ass. Before making a response based on ignorance, try doing a little research and prove what I said is wrong, which by the way I'm not. Any lawyer worth thier salt will tell you what I just did. Although the part of my response stating that Sprint will recover may be opinoin the rest is not so unless you can prove me wrong you should strongly consider limiting yourself to simply reading these posts and not responding.

The ranking was at random. My point is that Verizon is, at their own admission, two year away from rolling out their next generation data network. Its a safe bet to say that two years will probaly be closer to three. As to voice being dead, for all intents and purposes it is, in that their is not alot of room for growth. While Verizon claims they have the largest network, and they do, the roaming agreements Sprint has with Verizon and vice versa give customers with Sprint the same coverage that Verizon customers have without an extra charge. So the next step in the evolution of cell phone companies is data. Being able to take everything you can do on a computer with you in the palm of your hand. In that regard Sprint is well ahead of the pac...

Of course implementation is the key and Sprint has proven to be completely clueless in that department so I wouldn't go out and invest in Sprint stock anytime soon

Or ever!!!! because they have been trying to clean up CS for years, and it's still a disaster 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 Maybe you're not that nuts 🙄 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Much like T-zag I'm not entirely sure that anything you post has any real merit, but I will agree that CS is a mess and will probaly remain so. If I were Sprint I would sell both my nuts to get the CEO of Verizon to run the show. Can you imagine the brains and know how of a CEO who actually knows how to run a company with the GREAT product Sprint has but has failed to implement and properly advertise? Ahh....a fairy tale...I know.

Lowell McAdam wouldn't leave Verizon for Sprint regardless of the offer or amount of nuts Sprint would sell. At this point only God seems capable of saving Sprint 🤣

Data has supposedly been the "big thing" in wireless for 4 years now. A company cannot hang its future on having a fast data connection, watching tv on a phone. The vast majority of data being used is text messaging. When companies report data arpu. Most of it comes from Text.

Whether anyone on here wants to believe it or not 90% of consumers(Non Business) could care less if their phone has fast download speeds. The most important things to them are
1.Cost
2.Customer Service.

Now I know you will come back with Data is the future, people will want to be able to do everything from their phone but until the devices and costs for these features comes down most people will ignore it.

Wimax will not save Sprint. The changes they are ma...

The last time I check we still sell Phones. Not web browsers not e-mail machines not cameras we sell phones. With the exception of blackberry you can not just walk in and activate a datra package on a phone you have to have a wait for it... wait for it... a voice plan. Voice Sir is far from dead So while data maybe next big thing I doubt Voice will ever be dead.

If you put the claim, I bet it wont go through. Under the service agreement, it says "Sprint reserves the right to change the _______ at any time" or something like that. If its past the 30 days and your in contract, dont be expecting things to go your way! This isnt directed to Snang since his post is above mine, this is just my personal opinion 😉

I tried canceling and Sprint told me NO NO NO I am so tired of being told one thing and it being wrong. I have delt with bad billing and poor customer help for years with Sprint and I am done. Is there s specific term to use when explaining to them their own policy? I told the rep it was a change in terms and she was like duh...the only way you can cancel is if you are out of contract.

If they are this much of a headache, just eat the ETF, move on, and try to recoup some of the loss by selling your phone on ebay. There really is no reason for anyone to be miserable even though it might cost you a little bit of moola!
