As if your networks arent overloaded and scarce as it is, you're talking to Nextel? Another company with overloaded networks? Wow, didnt see that coming; actually gave you guys credit of merging/being acquired by Verizon. Very interesting times coming up. At least you're not all alone like TMobile!!!! 🤣 🤣 🤣

hmmm over loaded networks? maybe you should do your home work. sprint uses cdma that has 10 times the call capacity of gsm. in addition to that sprint has over 202,000 pops that is more then any other carrier in the nation. now lets see sprint currently is the third largest carrier with less then 30 mill users.

i am sorry but what you are saying is a complete fabrication. sprint is not over loaded. sprint has plenty of room on it's network to spare.

now let us talk about over loaded networks. both the old cingular and the old at&t had over loaded networks. before cingular could acquire at&t, at&t had to sell of portions of it's network.

hmmmmm more users on less network. doesn't that = even more over load? 🤭

maybe you sh...

Have to agree with that... my gf's roommate unwisely went with ATTW not long ago. Quite often during peak hours she'll get a 'network too busy' message and be unable to make a call.

uhhhh no. Cingular had to get rid of SOME of the att networks in a FEW cities. in 99% of the coverage, the network was VASTLY increased. cingular has more network capacity than anyone in the US currently. I get comments all the time about how there is already an improvement in many areas.

yea right! My mom had AT&T. She had great service until the merger talks started. The service has gotten progressively worse! After the merger was complete, the service got so bad that she has wisely gotten out of contract and gone to Sprint.

Juggernaut you have got to be kidding me. Even Consumer reports talked about Cingular/AT&T being overloaded. I am sure there are areas where service has gotten better. But there are also certain areas where reception has gotten worse. GSM technology holds 3 times as many callers per fequency over Analog whereas CDMA holds 10 times as many callers per fequency over Analog. Thats over 3 times as many callers per fequency than Cingular. Thats is why Sprint can over itself as an MVNO and Cingular cannot.

oh... and if they were so UNDERloaded, why do they have one of the worst networks? and another thing... cingular has the biggest network right now... not sprint.

ok cain it is obvious you are a little confused about what we are talking about. i think the first thing you should do is go find out what a pop is then once you have done that then go find out how many cingular has. sprint has over 202,000 compare yours to that.

now i am sure you got out your singular map and compared it to sprints map. i am sure that you compared cingulars orange to sprints dark green and land mass that does look bigger i will agree with you there. but if you ever learn what a pop is you will realize that land coverage is not what matters

Just had to comment on this steve guy. I am now with verizon but that doesn't matter for this post, i used to be with sprint and also att at one time. Land mass is important, does not matter how many "calls at a time" a tower can handle if you have no tower you get no signal. Also, sprint does have issues with over crowded networks. You can read up on that in numerous forums and on reviews such as consumer reports where customers state that they can not complete an attempted phone call due to the network beign busy. Don't belittle and make people feel stupid so you can try to feel superior, that is not what this post is about. I am sure I will get somethign replied to this b/c I am trying to clear things up but i don't care. I won't ev...

I worked for Verizon and Sprint. Verizon had to buy and Merge to get the network they have now. Sprint is now doing the same. Sprint and Verizon use pretty much the same equipment. Some of Verizons network has been around since the early 80 with there Analog and when they went Digital they only had to upgrade a few sites and fill in the holes. Some networks like Sprint started from the ground up and are still building sites like crazy. But Verizons analog network is a drain on there system because it is using too much spectrum and is a waste of it. Everyone needs to chill. No wireless company is perfect and no wireless company covers everywhere. I have experienced areas where Sprints network is better than Verizons and vise versa.

if you were serious on saying that sprint covers over 202,000 pops and thats the biggest then you are a very silly and confused person, just looking at the internet maps of the two coverages shows that cingular covers everything sprint covers plus more. and if you take a look at a brochure it will tell you that cing has 268,000,000 pops. ill assume you meant 202,000,000, but that will still give cing a 66,000,000 advantage.

IF you did a little research, you would realize that the deal was NOT with Cingular/Att, it is with Att landline. They made a deal to become a MVNO. Cingular has absolutely no interest in a cdma network. In fac, in just a few months, cingular will stopp using the Att logo/name totally as per the agreement w/ att land line in regards to the merger. Att wireless was a seperate company in reagrds to the land line company and only leased the name for brand recognition.

the way to sell Cingular is ONLY TO DEGRACE the company he/she's working with
perhaps the person will gain some dirty commission, but the company's fame is screwed up
