Hi, not sure about the 5400, I just purchased Two SCP-5500 / 4500. So far they work really well. Very user friendly unit, especially compared to my Nokia 3650. Lights, Sound, Animation...Did loose some features like Blue-tooth, IR, Memory, but gained Zoom, Camera Flash, Video Light, not too mention the Ready Link..very cool so far.. Will miss the customer Service I received from T-Mobile, hope I get the same with Sprint.

Let me know if you need any info on the 5500 I'll be more than happy to provide. I'll take a look at the 5400 as you mentioned.

Thanks, 😁

Well, the Sanyo 8200 is slated for a March release to replace the 8100. There will be a Sanyo 4950 to replace the 4900. Have not heard of the 7300.

Yes it is a Sanyo and you should avoid it all costs.

This is coming from the AT&T troll that wants to consistently bash Sprint PCS every chance he gets. Sanyo makes the best, most reliable phones for Sprint. I read at Sprintusers that the 7920 and the 8200 should be out in April

Samsung is better than Sanyo, IMO. Thanks for calling me a troll, I appreciate it.

Samsung may good for AT&T, but its garbage for Sprint PCS. Sprint PCS shouldn't even sell Samsung because, for the most part and not all, they are usally full of bugs and get horrible reception compared to Sanyo's.

I had the Samsung 6100, 8500, N400 and A500 and never once did I get good service. I just thought it was Sprints coverage and who was I too complain, I only paid $15 a month when I worked at Circuit City. Then I got the 5300 the weekend it came out and OMG, I could service everywhere my other phone didn't. I also did not have to take the battery off a few days a week when the phone froze. Have you ever used a Sanyo phone?? Put the Sanyo phone in a place where the Samsung phone didn't get service and I would almost gurantee that the Sanyo will work.

My wife had the 5300 and returned 2 days later, could not hear out of the ear piece and the ring tones sounded like that were played against sheet metal, returned it and bought a Samsung N270 off ebay. Now I am saving that phone for collectors hopefully.

I will admit that the 5300 earpiece was weird because you had to place the earpiece lower against your ear to hear it. But once you got used to it, it was fine. I am not sure what music sounds like when its played against sheet medal though, so I can't argue with you on that.

sanyos are the best selling phones on the sprint network and have the least amount of problems....you obviously don't know anything about sanyo phones.

Wow.. have you got your facts wrong. Sanyo is the most reliable brand Sprint carries. We use Sanyos to replace other brands when customers come in with issues. What was your experience with a Sanyo? I'm curious to know where your issues stem from... or do you just naturally have issues.... 😉

I have to agree. We see more samsungs come in with issues than we do sanyo. This has been the case in my four years here. Stemming back to Sanyo 4000 and 4500, Sanyo has always proven to have more reliable handsets than Samsung. Only good Samsung I remember was 8500. Sanyo has yet to fail me!!
