Seriously, Service Subpar in SC

Snuggles

Jun 24, 2007, 9:13 AM
Seriously, my service is very subpar in South Carolina. Signal bars drop from 5 to 0 in seconds. Takes multiple times to send text messages, access internet pages and send/receive photos. Is this not grounds to terminate contract?

Every time you post something you are either

A: Sounding foolish

or

B: Crying about something

There isn't a service that is perfect every where. There is also a reason you have 30 days to try out the service.

yea, this is getting old.

plus, its a device issue, which is NOT grounds for getting out of your contract.

but like i said, if you call and get me, ill gladly do it, if you shut up here.

Does EVERYONE'S phone do this all over SC?

Aren't you in the medical field?
Is your intelligence quotient indicative of our nation's medical care system?

I honestly cannot believe you asked that question.

I need a drink.

If you actually read the contract you signed, it would tell you that we cannot gaurentee service everywhere, and lack of service is not a viable reason for getting out of your contract. Figure out if it will cost you more to stay in contract for 2 years, or just cancel and pay the $200.

a lack of service isn't a viable reason to get out of a contract? um... that is perfect reason to ask for a termination fee waive. within reason. non-satisfactory service in any field is not acceptable!!

The only chance you have of getting out of the contract is if your home address falls outside the coverage area (you can view it at sprint.com). Call customer service with this information and if they decide it's a possibility they would then tell you to go to a corporate store with proof of address (driver's license, state id, etc.) If you had this address when you activated they will still probably not cancel your service. It's hard to accomplish canceling without an ETF but I've seen it done.

Jun 25, 2007, 1:30 PM
YES it is very possible to cancel your service without and ETF these are the three occaisions in which this happens

1) Join the army and get sent to Iraq for a couple of years. Military personel are allowed to cancel with proof they are being deployed out of the country.

2) get sentenced to life in prison.

or my pers fave #3) DIE

Actually in this situation they would just place you on the $0 MRC military plan. (It also suspends the contract.) So no, that does not work.

he also needs to realize that its impossible to lodge a legit complaint about THE ENTIRE FRIGGIN STATE.

on average, a CDMA tower covers a circular area with a radius of roughly 7 miles.

so his complaint has absolutely zero validity in my mind.

Look I pay my F**King bills and I'm not here to complain, but I joined Sprint because I thought it would get good service in SC, and at first service was pretty good. But lately it's been horrible. Some of you say I'm lying, why would I lie? Others say it's the phone, it's a Sayno M1, what could be wrong with the phone? Instead of telling me what I can't do why not try telling me what I can do to fix the problem. How the F**K did you even get hired, most of you have little to no customer service skills. And for those of you in SC, you maybe in a different part of the state.

ever heard of a DUD? it is a piece of electronics, designed and manufactured by imperfect humans. tool.

Funny you all are so blind and ignorant to even have the balls to admit that maybe Sprint's service is subpar in some areas.
...
wombough

Jun 25, 2007, 8:31 PM
did you not post this awhile back? Is it text messages also of just vision services. The only problem I had with the M1 was when I was in an area that alltel had EVDO and sprint did not. It automatically picks up EVDO and I had some issues with vision services. That is it with that phone.
...
Snuggles

Jun 25, 2007, 8:34 PM
The only problems with the phone are signal strength, one minute 5 bars, the next no service.
Sometimes takes 10 times to send one text message or photo. Vision services take often multiple times to load up to the internet. Other then signal and service, the phone itself is great.
...
wombough

Jun 26, 2007, 8:28 AM
Signal strength is both EVDO and voice. So I never go by it unless I can't make a call. I have had 1 bar and hit send and get 5. I have told you what to do to fix the M1. If you haven't done it then thats is on you!
...
Snuggles

Jun 26, 2007, 7:53 PM
And how again to fix the M1 again besides turning off roaming?
...
wombough

Jun 26, 2007, 10:43 PM
Its not turning off roaming. Its turning off EVDO on your phone. The m1 splits its services to data and voice. Ever get the message searching for voice service? It already has data. Or just searching for service. If you are in a area that sprint does not have evdo and alltel does you will see these problems!!

So how do I do that instruct me in the process
...
mobile_trojan

Jun 25, 2007, 8:45 PM
not true. the last city i lived in, sprint had coverage, but it sucked.

also, i remember you babbling on and on about the M1s before you bought them, so i know you bought them together.

im gonna let you in on a secret. cell phones and all other electronic devices are made in batches. if there is a flaw in one of them, its pretty common to see the same flaw in many more of them.

so perhaps it IS a device issue like i said. but please, do not take it to a store for diagnostics. it will certainly pass an RF test, which means you will be wasting your time.

Jun 25, 2007, 8:47 PM

Well, for me it is the constant posts that are quite.....ridiculous, for lack of a better word. The o.p. has been a member of ps since 2004, so these questions are even more confusing. A lot of this ground has already been covered, and the "Search" option is very useful.

Have you tried setting your phone to roaming only? If it works fine that way then it is the network in that area. The only thing you can do in that situation is have a network ticket filled out for that area. Have those you know with sprint do the same thing to get as many reports about the problem as possible. I was down in SC a few weeks ago and didn't have many problems but I did notice the signal get very weak along I-26, many times my phone only showed a tower icon. It does seem the network has several holes in it and they do need to be fixed. I found several holes going from Greenville to walhalla then up to Franklin, NC which has no sprint coverage but should.
